'Scandal' has been renewed by ABC for a second season according to creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes and ABC has confirmed officially.
No word on 'Private Practice' (even Shonda is still waiting as of this writing) 'GCB,' or 'Body Of Proof' yet.
ABC has also picked up several new shows.
I can finally rest easy on SCANDAL. THANKS ABC!
Good for Scandal, but like others have said it will need to increase if it wasn’t to keep going. That’s something that is difficult for serialized shows to do. Plus it doesn’t have the benefit of Grey’s cross overs like Private Practice.

Well, The Mentalist and POI almost get the same ratings, so I don’t see why POI would hurt Scandal.

I think that the lowest unscripted premiere renewal (with the same qualifications) record was broken by Fashion Star (1.5).

Aww, you weep. I will say I’m surprised it came before Apt.2B. I thought that was locked. But Happy Ending and Scandal are coming back so I can’t stay mad!!!
As for GCB…
This truly is the best news ever.
SCANDAL premiered and may folks assumed it would be DOA. It was a mid-late season show with nearly no expectations and it has proven to be a completely steady performer. No big drops at all since the pilot. And the chance for it to break out completely in the fall.
What other new ABC (other than OUAT) can say that? Go SCANDAL.

They better renew Private Practice. Aside from 2 of it’s Tuesday episodes it’s gotten better ratings than any episode of Scandal.

Congratulations. I am happy to see your show was renewed. Revenge was too so we all have reason to celebrate. Actually I have double reason to celebrate because I enjoy both shows. I was disappointed in Harry’s Law getting cancelled but it really was a stretch to think it would be renewed. GCB might be my next disappointment. Then on to CBS….I am sure some disappointment there. Overall though I have been very lucky this year.
It made perfect sense to renew SCANDAL since it is an election year, and we all love a little dirt…lol
This was ABC’s worst new drama this season. I did NOT like this. Couldn’t care less about PP or GCB, but I’m sad aboit what this means for Body of Proof.
HOORAY! HOORAY! I haven’t been excited about a show since like ever!!! It has me on the edge of my seat all of the time. I don’t believe Shonda wants to do 13 episodes, she wants to stick to 7. I can’t believe I forgot about Eureka this Monday but I have never forgotten to watch Scandal. I know there are a lot of haterz out there but it awright! A message to the haterz: Since 1974 no black female lead has ever graced network tv. Can you guess why I’m appreciated of ABC right now so can it!!!
