Update: GCB has been canceled.

'Scandal' has been renewed by ABC for a second season according to creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes and ABC has confirmed officially.

    damn ABC no Brothers and Sisters no Housewives and no GCB and maybe no Body of Proof WTF11

  • Dillan

    First TSC, now GCB :(

  • jamandas

    Darn I like GCB not happy at all

    @SteveA

    I just don’t get it. If I don’t watch a show I don’t seek out anything that has to do with it. It just seems so pointless to me.

    @ ABC’s worst enemy

    Agree, only good show left is Grey’s!!

  • Tony ^_^

    I’m actually surprised that GCB got cancelled. I think ABC expected higher ratings. It’s already getting 1.9′s so they’re probably afraid that it could fall below a 1.5…

  • Aaron

    alas, an exceptionally creative show like no other like GCB has been cancelled… well, at least Scandal isn’t as generic as other shows.
    NBC seems like the network airing most shows that actually stand out.

    What about missing is missing renewed for a second season does anybody know or not yet

  • Rebecca

    It’s too bad about GCB. My mom, sister and I really enjoyed it.

  • Scandalfan

    I’m so happy Scandal is renewed i’m doing the happy dance. Please ABC i need to hear about PP now.

  • SteveA

    Right @Bookworm. If you didn’t watch Scandal before, then your viewership of ABC shouldn’t change, unless you watched GCB or something cancelled. Don’t act like this show took the place of a show that was cancelled.

    @LL2 I didn’t write my post correctly regarding that statement. I’ve been trying to search for the interview with Shonda Rhimes where they asked her if Scandal were renewed if she would go for a full season. She responded something like she enjoyed writing it the way it was. I didn’t know whether she was joking or not but I need to find that interview.

    @SJ
    Really? The first five and you’ve been ragging on it like you haven’t seen anything the promo? If you stayed for majority of its first season and still feel like it wasn’t good enough for renewal, you should have opted out. Everything from the ratings to dialogue to peoples facial expressions have come under scrutiny with you.

    I’m waiting for more info on the new shows and their promos but I highly doubt you would come to a post solely about Scandal and your beloved GCB to gripe about the new shows. Especially when they have their own post. Lets just be honest, you said you threw up in your mouth when Scandal was renewed (minus GCB and the new pick ups new).

    Yeah, I’m kind of off with the 2B and 23 part. My father calls it 2B and I got hipped to it.

    I don’t know what Scandal will do but I don’t wish it fail because I do love the show very much and I have a feeling with summer previews and such, it will really gain. Though I’m sure you will love to see it fail. You are certain Scandal will Tank but unsure what GCB will do? Apparently nothing since it was cancelled. Biasness is not an attractive trait.

    Oh, and you should have stayed for the 6th Episode. If it didn’t make you a fan before, you would have been one now! ;)

    so pissed off now at ABC! GCB has a much better retention that Scandal. GCB got mistreated all the way, with repeats and movies airing before, moving around the schedule, going on an unecessary break! Stupid! Scandal had the perfect cushion of Grey’s Anatomy and they never messed up with the scheduling!

  • AlcoholicsAnonymous

    GCB canceled? Pan Am is looking good then ever now.

    /sarcasm for Bill & Robert.

  • Brian

    Well, it’s a shame GCB got the axe! I was hoping it would return. Oh well! Brad Beyer (Zac the car guy) can get back to his real task of going to war with the ASA to restore the US to what it was before 23 nuclear bombs destroyed the country.

  • Tommy M.

    With GCB cancelled I suspect Castle will be moving to Sundays at 10PM. I don’t see ABC wanting to launch back to back new hours on Sundays.

  • Aaron

    GCB was never meant for network television. Its atmosphere was too controversial towards the Christian community. It would have done a lot better on a pay-to-watch channel.

  • Teag

    @SJ,

    awwww.

  • The Mike Factor

    GCB! :[
    The saddest news of a generally happy day of renewals. ABC you can fix this by giving me B—- and LMS. Please don’t let me down again.
