It's Official: 'CSI: Miami' Canceled; 'CSI: NY' Renewed by CBS

Update 2: And now official that CSI: NY has been renewed.

Update: It’s official, CBS has canceled CSI: Miami. CBS said in a statement:

CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of “CSI: Miami” in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.”

The Big Apple triumphed over the sunglasses according to TV Guide’s sources.  We figured CBS would part with at least one of CSI: Miami and CSI: NY, but due to lack of information on the economics (particularly international and syndication) we were never crystal clear on which would stay and which would go and gave a slight edge to CSI: Miami.  But according to the report CBS will announce it has renewed CSI: NY and canceled CSI: Miami.
