Update 2: And now official that CSI: NY has been renewed.

Update: It's official, CBS has canceled CSI: Miami. CBS said in a statement:

CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of “CSI: Miami” in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.”

related: NYC 22, Unforgettable and Rob all canceled.

original post:

The Big Apple triumphed over the sunglasses according to TV Guide's sources.  We figured CBS would part with at least one of CSI: Miami and CSI: NY, but due to lack of information on the economics (particularly international and syndication) we were never crystal clear on which would stay and which would go and gave a slight edge to CSI: Miami.  But according to the report CBS will announce it has renewed CSI: NY and canceled CSI: Miami.

Shocking? For whom? But the true is, that Jo must disappear in New York, because from 7 season when she came the audience fell to 9-10 millions.

NO NO NO!!! This cannot be true.

  3. Chris

I am so glad Miami is gone. Now get rid of the cheesy acting in NY and you have a great show.

  4. Sam

So sad. It just seems that CBS can’t do anything right these days.

well this is a bit of a surprise, miami deserves to be cancelled but NY should have gone with it, it’s ratings a terrible.

It’s always sad when people lose their jobs, but CSI: Miami was by far the worst of the CSI Franchise. David Caruso was awful on the show.

Even though I like Ny more than Miami I’m still confused. My guess is another season of NY would be slightly cheaper to make. At least it has a chance of reaching 200 now.

Well, I always though NY would go first. But I’m glad they’re slowly getting rid of all these CSI’s. 1 is enough, not 3!

Haters lol CSI NY has been my favorite even though they do slack in some parts… I still think that the original CSI should go and keep the two spin offs

    Was there any cliffhanger?

  19. chezmoi

Sad but simple…CSI:NY had reduced its budget eg replacing Stella with Jo etc. Miami did not really reduce its budget…However, CSI: Miami still reminded us why Florida is a tourist attraction for Europeans!

I always figured CSI:Miami had a better show and ratings. CSI: NY just had better actors.
