For the twelve people who care: NBC has canceled unscripted series 'The Marriage Ref,' 'Fear Factor,' 'Minute To Win It,' Who Do You Think You Are?' and 'The Sing Off.'
Was fear factor a scripted series?
They’re bringing back those shows as soon as their scripted shows fail on the fall. I don’t care about NBC either way. Just keep renewing Parenthood and Parks and I’ll be fine..
sara, it was a reality show
Addy, I’d like to think they’ll be coming back, but apparently they’re canceled
Fear Factor did OK right?
I can’t believe Fear Factor is cancelled (again).
Kind of sad about WDYTYA, but they probably had trouble finding celebrities who were willing to participate.
Marriage Ref and Minute to Win It have been off the air for over a year so I’m surprised we even got an official confirmation that they’re done.
What about Who’s Still Standing?
suprised about fear factor thought it did pretty good for nbc standards
Surprised by WDYTYA. Would have thought it’d at least end up on Bravo.
Still, axing their filler programming is a good long-term bet.
FEAR FACTOR was what, their second highest-rated show in the fall behind The Office?
It only fell to 1.5 once and was over 2.2 for the rest of the run, I believe?
Never seen the show, but don’t understand this.
shame, i liked all these shows……
while Fear Factor had decent ratings, i don’t think Greenblatt was a fan of the show.
I’m honestly surprised that “Who Do You Think You Are” lasted for 3 seasons! Who’d have thought that a genealogy show would have lasted that long on network TV in the states?
Trying The Sing Off as a regular series was worth a shot, but I guess airing during the Holidays was the only spot for it.
Who Do You Think You Are was a solid show. It could’ve done really well if they got people as appealing as Reba (who brought in big numbers.
I thought The Marriage Ref was canned some time back.
This news really surprises me, as unscripted series are generally much cheaper to produce. I especially liked Who Do You Think You Are? and am amazed that Whitney and Up All Night were renewed rather than this show. Sigh.
I don’t think FF got cancelled because of ratings. I think it had something to do with the donkey semen stunt that didn’t air.
Why do you cancel your #3 show?
Also, is Who’s Still Standing still alive?
@JR35, me too, since it was yanked off the schedule over a year ago. perhaps a “now more canceled than ever” missed opportunity for me.
