Do No Harm:
The New Normal:
Guys With Kids:
@Mickey-”Safe to say, only one of us is going to like Chicago Fire. My money is on you.”
That’s fine with me. My money is with me enjoying Chicago Fire and Person Of Interest for several seasons to come, and you posting “Save Revolution” posts as it’s status will be on the bubble or lower for the majority of the season much like Fringe’s has been the last two seasons (which is an AWFUL show, no wonder it’s ratings suck so bad).
If Revolution makes it past season one, it will only be because it’ll have The Voice as a lead in. It’s ratings will be no better than Smash’s have been, if not worse. I’m not impressed with the show at all. It’s acting and storyline look lame. It’s only saving grace is it’s special effects.
I’d think they’d hold the most promising new shows for mid-season so they can air during sweeps. 1600 Penn looks the most promising – like Revenge of the Nerds where one of the nerds is from a White House family….. plus Jenna Elfman? I’m in.
I bet to all these married women or those dating or have someone who intend on watching ‘Chicago Fire’ strictly for the “hot guys”, I bet you tune out when you find out it’s another boring procedural.
I truly hope it flops on NBC. And WHY is ‘SVU’ on at 9PM anyway, I bet some static will arise soon as season 14 premieres.

And the same goes for ‘Chicago Fire’, IF it gets renewed, it’s because it’s under ‘SVU’ (and it shouldn’t be). I bet the ratings for ‘Chicago Fire’ are going to be the same as the ratings for ‘Parenthood’. Especially with ‘CSI’ and ‘Revenge’ on Wednesdays (likely). ‘CSI’ is going to kick it’s ass. And the demo for ‘SVU’ won’t be as strong as it is now, at 9PM/8c the demo average for ‘SVU’ will be even lower than this year.
I truly don’t see ‘Chicago Fire’ getting a 2nd season, it likely won’t make it past added episodes.
Revolution and Next Caller.
Wow! Awesome trailer for Revolution. Even more excited to see it now than I was earlier.
The over growth bothered you? Obviously you don’t live near a prairie of forest preserve. There’s a prairie right near my apartment and another a few miles away at the college I attended. They do controlled burns on both every year and without fail the following summer the plants are over 4 feet tall. Really thick trees might be bothersome, but it looked like really tall plants that would be smaller otherwise
@Mike- “The Law & Order Franchise is basically dead.. Only SVU is left and i give it 1-2 more seasons before it gone for good..”
Maybe so, but it still lasted longer than anything else on that crappy network known as NBC, which hasn’t been any good since the 90′s.
“SVU ist that good, The original wast either nor LA… only some of Criminal Intent…”
LA wasn’t that good, but the rest of them were AWESOME. Revolution will never have a legacy like the L&O shows have had, or Miami Vice, or even NY Undercover (which are some other Dick Wolf produced shows).
“And the theme songs are extreamly dull and boring everytime i hear that stupid song i change the channel so does everyone i know.. but still Chicago Fire wont make it to season 2″.
Everybody you know must be people who like nothing but special effects and weak plots in shows. It’s whatever. Chicago Fire WILL make it to Season 2. If Revolution does, it’ll ONLY be because The Voice will be it’s lead in. All you need on NBC to get renewed is a 1.9 or so average. Even Rock Center could get that if it followed The Voice.
@E.Rector- “And the same goes for ‘Chicago Fire’, IF it gets renewed, it’s because it’s under ‘SVU’ (and it shouldn’t be).”
Why shouldn’t it be under SVU? Dick Wolf created both shows. If anything, Revolution shouldn’t be behind The Voice. It’s a completely different show. If it gets renewed (and I predict it will) it’ll be because it’s a quality drama. Something that NBC hasn’t had in ages outside of the L&O franchise.
“I bet the ratings for ‘Chicago Fire’ are going to be the same as the ratings for ‘Parenthood’. Especially with ‘CSI’ and ‘Revenge’ on Wednesdays (likely).”
I doubt that. But even so Parenthood’s ratings are good enough for renewal. I could see Revenge getting renewed, but even if it doesn’t I can see it holding it’s own against both. After all, CSI is aging.
“‘CSI’ is going to kick it’s ass. And the demo for ‘SVU’ won’t be as strong as it is now, at 9PM/8c the demo average for ‘SVU’ will be even lower than this year.”
Hawaii 5-0 and Castle will BOTH kick Revolution’s ass. You better pray that H50 gets moved to Tuesdays, otherwise it’ll be looking at toss-up status or lower for the entire season. If “Vegas” gets moved to Mondays at 10pm, that’s another show that will whoop Revolution. And don’t forget about Monday Night Football and Monday Night RAW. The latter may not beat it’s demo but it’ll take viewers away for certain.
And even if SVU’s demo is lower this season, it will still do enough ratings to get renewed. It has a loyal fan base.
“I truly don’t see ‘Chicago Fire’ getting a 2nd season, it likely won’t make it past added episodes.”
It’ll absolutely get a second season. The cast looks good, and Wolf has a great reputation of making quality shows, moreso than JJ Abrams even who had two shows cancelled this season (Terra Nova and Alcatraz) and another that should have been cancelled two seasons ago (Fringe).
What I thought:
The New Normal: B+
Go On: B+
next Caller: B-
Guy With Kids:C-
Do No Harm: D+
Animal Practice: D-
Save Me: F+
1600 Penn: F-
I might actually watch NBC this year.
I just realized… Revolution is going to be up against H50 and Castle!!! I really need the new DVR that records three things at once.
I meant to say I can see Revenge getting MOVED in my last post. This site seriously needs an edit button.
I find it funny that people are already fighting over which shows will be renewed and cancelled.
Appointment TV – Revolution gets space on my TV schedule until it proves itself unworthy.
3-6 episode trial – Go On for Matthew Perry alone
1 and likely done – I’ll give these pilots a shot but will be surprised if I keep watching: Chicago Fire (needs more than half naked men and emo), Guys with Kids, Next Caller, 1600 Penn (the college kid already annoys me), Infamous (may be better than it looks so I have more hope for this one than the others)
No thank you – Do No Harm, New Normal, Animal Practice, Save Me
These trailers are doing nothing to spark my interest. All of these new shows seems boring. For some reason Revolution reminds me of Terra Nova. I don’t feel as if I would invest in something like this.
The trees growing over the buildings looked bizarre for some reason. 15 years later and the city looks like Machu Picchu! I don’t buy it. I’ve not cut my grass in 6 years and it’s not so bad. I can easily get out the front door with just a swiffer vac and butter knife. Double that and I think a good weedwacker would still get me to the curb.
Excited for Revolution. The New Normal seemed very meh by the trailer. Go On looks good as does 1600 Penn. Will also check out Save Me.
The new normal & Revolution.
The rest don’t look good.
Revolution looks Ok, it’s nice to see Giancarlo Esposito be a villain again and not whatever the heck he is on Once Upon a Time. But WHY do all these shows need to put teenagers in them. Are they completely blind to how much people hate the annoying teenage son or daughter? But I really enjoy sword fights, so I might be able to forgive for a bit.
As for the overgrowth, take a look at some pictures around Chernobyl, now granted that is without anyone around, but still it is possible, the show just exaggerated it which just makes it like every single TV show ever.
For comedies: 1600 Penn made me laugh a bit, surprisingly, and Animal Practice might be watchable just for the monkey. I hate Andrew Rannells’ face with a passion, so the New Normal is a no-go for me. The Anne Heche one made me go “eh?”, so not a good sign
Dramas: I’m a SPN fangirl so I’ll try out Revolution just for Kripke, but I think the concept seems stupid when you think about it for more than a second, and the cast isn’t that appealing to me yet. Do No Harm seems intriguing, but Infamous and Chicago Fire are huge “mehs”.
The summer series Saving Hope seems more interesting than any of these, frankly
Revenge is NOT getting moved. You can take that to the bank!
