    boy Shark tank is a friday-night beast

    I’m looking at the list of CW upfront talent that @cadlymack tweeted, and the order of importance they seem to give the talent (it’s not alphabetical). I like that J2 rank right below the VD trio and I’m thrilled that Pedowitz is recognizing how solid the show is and promoting it a little bit

    @Ashley

    Even that list has got some flaws in it. Jensen should ideally be at the beginning. No way, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhadler are talented than Jensen Ackles.

  • Harris

    Chicago didn’t air SPN or Nikita till Sunday, so they probably got punished in the ratings a bit for that, because Sunday is a busy TV day, especially for genre fans.

    Yes! CSI: NY is renewed. This 1.2 doesn’t matter anymore. And it looks like it was just a fluke. Look at Undercover Boss, Grimm and Blue Bloods, they were not too far away from 1.2.

    I also won’t mind where CBS will put NY on schedule. Having another season is a great surprise and makes us fans so happy. I just hope the network will announce it as the final season already. It’s now on the bottom and no place else to go but cancellation unless all their new dramas tank.

    @KS

    Well, VD is their biggest hit, so the trio will always get top billing at a CW event. And Jared is billed before Jensen, technically, so there’s that. That’s not really the point though–I just like that they are a) there to begin with and b) obviously important to Pedowitz

    Looking at the new talent pool, you can see also that Arrow is #1 for them

    @ KS – yes, SPN & Nikita’s viewers went down but retained their preliminary demos. The S6 finale episodes were also preempted in Chicago with similar result, lost some viewers but retained the prelim demos.

    @KS
    The order is fine. It’s cast of the number 1 show (TVD) then cast of the number two show (SPN) in their billing order (ever notice that Jared’s name appears before Jensen’s?)

  • Mickey 1.0

    Glad SPN’s demo survived the pre-emption. I think I’m going to stop following the ratings and just assume SPN keeps getting 0.7s every week.

    I’m pretty sure that’s why J2 will be at the upfronts in a couple of days for the first time since the WB handed off to the CW.

    Interesting that none of the cast of GOSSIP GIRL is appearing for their last upfront, although same could be said for One Tree Hill last year.

  • Colin

    People dont uderstand Friday ratings… Friday slolts are suppose to be lower than 2s friday ratings hurt bc of people dont wath tv

  • John A

    Remember when Ghost whisperer was getting mid 2.s and higher? Poor CBS even UB is sinking.

  • Sid

    I just realized that Lyndsey Fonseca won’t be there either :(

  • AC75

    @Sid

    If we could just get her to leave the show then we’d be getting somewhere.

  • Sid

    @AC75

    I actually like Alex though. It’s no surprise as a lot of fans aren’t a fan of her. I’m interested to see what’s going to happen to her. I feel like most of S2 was about her and with her storyline mostly resolved, I’m not sure there’s much left for her character.

  • AC75

    She’s too wishy-washy for me to really enjoy her. I always think she’s about to burst out bawling! I don’t watch Nikita so much anymore but seems like everytime I flip it on, she’s THERE.

  • Sid

    @AC75

    Yeah she had a major arc this Season with her trying to regain control over her fathers empire from her uncle. It pretty much took about 3/4 of the Season.

    It was handled very well by the execs and they managed not to bore me despite the longevity of her arc.

  • Adrian

    @AC75

    Alex is a very integral part of the show. She isn’t some secondary guest character if that is what you were thinking. All the promos either show Nikita, Nikita/Alex, or Nikita/Alex/Michael.

  • Melanie

    Good to see that the Chicago pre-emption didn’t hurt SPN or Nikita.
