Our source for Live+7 DVR ratings includes only original, regular programs, excluding both repeats (which are unlikely to be heavily DVR viewed) and "specials". There were 78 such programs in the data for the week ending April 29.
During week thirty-two of the 2011-12 broadcast season (April 23, 2012 - April 29, 2012) Big Bang Theory topped the rankings for the week's DVR viewing adults 18-49 ratings gains. Between the Live+Same Day period (as reported in all our other ratings posts) and the Live + 7 Day measurement periods Big Bang Theory posted a substantial gain of 1.7 adults 18-49 ratings points.
Fringe had the largest percentage gain with a 80.0% 18-49 ratings increase from DVR viewing.
The Mentalist led the absolute average viewership gained from DVR viewing adding 3.467 million viewers via DVR between the Live+Same Day and Live + 7 day measurement periods.

Definitions:
DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.
Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.
Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate
Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

Lol, who has time to watch tv live nowadays? Im a college student and I DVR every single show I watch (which is a lot, around 14) and then watch them on Friday and the weekend. DVRing shows allows flexibility and saves time since you can skip the commercials. The only thing I actually watch live is hockey…
I wonder if I’m the only person that does this.

Oh I don’t watch anything live either. I agree it’s hard to find time, but I just wish things were different. I remember the days when if I didn’t watch a show, I was out of the loop at school.

The Secret Circle has higher ratings than Nikita and Hart of Dixie in the above list. But, TSC cancellation is fantastic decision taken by CW in all its life time.

I can imagine Nikita beeing canceled during the 3rd Season and replaced immediately if it doesn’t do better…. i love Nikita but i don’t think it will… whoever Maggie Q is f**king right now, she’s f**king him for nothing.
