Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2012 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.
Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

If DH got 3.2 in the first hour and 3.3 in the second, isn’t the average for the two hours 3.3?
woowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww………………desperate housewives finale have gotten high ratings wow a difference of what there getting all year congratuations surprise!!!!!!!!!!I’am going to miss wisteria lane sundaes nite ain’t going be the same.
Great for OUAT! The finale was amazing and I’m really pumped for season 2!
I thought DH would do better, but still it did nicely for a series finale
Is that a series low for the Simpsons?
If DH got 3.2 in the first hour and 3.3 in the second, isn’t the average for the two hours 3.3?
@MoHasanie
i guess is 3.2 and half.
DH did about what I expected. I actually thought OUAT would be a little higher. ABC still has to be happy with these numbers though.
@KS
I thought the Once Upon a Time finale was pretty much perfect. They wrapped up a season arc, but the very act of wrapping up that arc brought on a host of new questions and springboards of where to go next.
Once upon a time was cool last night!! can’t wait till season 2!! the writing, directing and acting are all fantastic. and the costume design is wonderful too! congrats to the whole cast and crew for a job well done!!!!
@Petar
Which rounds up to 3.3.
Awful number for a first run episode of the Simpsons. The season finale should be up next week though against no competition and featuring Lady Gaga.
Nice to see Bob’s holding steady while everything else went lower than normal.
LOVED LOVED LOVED the Once Upon a Time finale!!!! Already watched it twice! I watch it at my parent’s b/c I don’t have cable atm but left early and didn’t see DH b/c I had to be up early. Yeah…go home and went on some of the OUAT message boards….ended up getting to bed REALLY late. Took the day off work. Dang, this show has turned me into a crazy obsessed fangirl!
Loved seeing the reunion between my fave fictional couple! Was SOOO sweet!
DH got very decent ratings! Yea, the ratings were higher in S1 or S2 if you know what I mean ; but besides NCIS every show decreases in ratings during time. For a show in its 8th season…getting this numbers…is actually really great. ABC will miss this show. I loved every single second of it. #Goodbye Desperate Housewives Wisteria Lane, etc
I have reservations about OUAT’s finale, but overall it was very good and deserved the increase in demo.
ABC owns Sunday night! Great finale for OUAT and at least a small rise in ratings…
OUAT season finale matched Desperate Housewives series finale O_o
@MoHasanie
i guess is 3.2 and half.
Which rounds up to 3.3.
Only in grade school…
@Robsten_Fan
Lol, love the sarcasm. Survivor was over as soon as Kim won the last Immunity challenge.
@MoHasanie
I should add that how the half hours are averaged together is completely irrelevant. They will take the average number of 18-49 viewers over the full ~120 minutes divided by the total and then that number will be rounded to the rating.
Thank God Lynette and her husband Tom stayed together!!!! That was the best part of the show. The trial was ridiculous but what the heck…all’s well that ends well.
I almost always watch OUAT and DH live. But I went to dinner for Mother’s Day. I’m sure plenty of viewers might have been busy as well. Not trying to play Faz Exuse Bingo but……
