Every Katie Couric backstage view will be unprecedented. lol

Funny how Prince Charles’s name is even mentioned. Except for “The Prince of Wales” in the next to last paragraph. And, Ol’ Fuddy-Duddy’s wife Camille, is nowhere to be found. Hmmmmm.

The United Colonies of America broke free of the United Kingdom in 1776. One reason was the fact that we wanted no Royalty governing our nation. A few folks in Washington today apparently would fail American History as our Constitution gets trampled daily.

  • Ralph Hahn

CORRECTION: >>> Funny how Prince Charles’s name is(N’T) even mentioned <<<
Sub isn't for is. Depending on what your definition of "is" is. lol

  • Paul

I still do not understand why American media is still showing this stuff on air. Enough with the royals over sees, lets focus on other things in this world that are far more important than an old womans party. Off with their heads! I wish the world would do away with royalty.

  • Ralph Hahn

@Paul: The height of the USA’s fascination of British Royalty came when Princess Diana married Prince Jughead. Then the stories of lovers on both sides, the boy-kings, Camille ( who I think is Charles’ real mother, not wife) the Prince’s marriage to Kate, and her sister Pippa’s a-s.

This country is so voyeuristic, we just love to see and hear about British gossip.

I think it’s up to the British people to stop funding the Royal Family, which has no real power over government.

I’m only concerned that the Americans will want to have our own Royalty again someday. It’s pretty damn close to it now.

  • Tess

Well, I for one am really excited for the concert – but seeing how ABC is the only network covering it and the actual concert is supposed to go like 2 1/2 hours not including Katie Couric’s “unprecedented access” to the palace or commercials, I guess that means we’re getting a real cut rate version and any act not considered a big enough name in the states that is performing in it will not be shown here. That sucks. I for one, would much rather see all those lesser known British acts over any day of the week.

  • BritMan

Well as A bloke from England, I can say that most people are not bothered either way about funding the queen which are supposed to cost us £45 million a year, which excludes security costs which are not released. My guess they cost £200-300 million. But they are a tourist attraction and bring in billions.

But over all they have no real power and they are something to look at on the money and stamps.

  • gregg

they are a bunch of liars, thieves and murderers. nothing but satan-worshipping group of family members who have robbed the “real” royal family. But don’t worry, there day of judgement is coming. Lets see how tiugh they look burning

  • cheshirecat

Apart from BritMan’s comments, the rest show the ignorance of Americans regarding Britain and its royals, and their classless verbiage is just plain trash.

  • Exspat

Cheshirecat, I am happy to be ignorant about the british royal trash. I am however knowledgeable of the royal tradition of brutal conquest and colonialism. I am up on the subject of the American Revolution when a rag tag army sent a king, tail tucked running back to his moldy hole of a country. I am aware of the idiots who believe another human is above themselves by birth. I am aware of the huge control, and waste of earth resources by inbred, icons supported by a country who is barely awake.
