Big Bang Theory renewed 1.74

I knew one of the CSI offspring would get canned, but I admitted not really being able to pick which one since the decision was likely driven by syndication economics that are hidden to us. I went with CSI:NY to be canceled, and CSI: Miami was instead. C'est la vie.

Otherwise, I picked every other CBS renewal and cancellation correctly for the season, with a push for The Good Wife predicted as a "toss up", (pending the final decision on Rules Of Engagement, which I predicted would be renewed). I will edit this post and the table once the final word on RoE is known tomorrow morning.

5/21 Update: Rules of Engagement has been renewed and will return mid-season.

With that the Index bids the 2011-12 CBS season adieu, there will be no more CBS Renew / Cancel posts until September. Happy summer CBS!

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

So pleased CSI NY was renewed that took over as my favourite show a few seasons ago. I took part in the #Operation9 campiagn (signed the petition sent letters), I know that these kinds of things don’t really work but it was fun and also nice to do something positive and I mess some very nice people.

I still watch Vegas sometimes but I gave up watching Miami a few years, could take any more “Sunglasses” moments and Calleigh really started to grate on me for some reason (no idea why used to like her).

Was not that impressed with Blue bloods this season and the finale just seemed like a normal episode to me but thats just my opinion

CBS – Once again, you’ve done everything in your poor excuse of a network to NOT care about any of your viewers. The show “Unforgettable” is good. The writers have an interesting and entertaining story going and All the actors are fantastic!!! If I had any power RE: CBS Programming, I’d fire the execs that have no clue, couldn’t even complete an ongoing interesting story and only care the dollars. If “Unforgettable” is not doing well on the evening you chose, choose another evening (i.e. Friday before Blue Bloods or Saturday when you have no shows worthy of watching. My friends in England are also “pissed”!!!

I think its a little B.S. that A Gifted Man gets cancelled along with CSI Miami.. Seriously??? Most of the programs on here are stupid REALITY TV that noone wants to see.. I think if your any kind of a person you know we see and deal with enough REALITY as it is in our everyday lives.. Why the hell would we wanna watch it?? If your cancelling shows get rid of the REALITY TV and put back the ones ppl like to see.. Like CSI Miami

I can not beleive that they canceled Csi:MIami I pre-recorded each week and you know what I never got the whole show because the good wife was playing in CSI:Miami spot, so I would only get 15 min’s of the show. I liked the unforgettable, the gifted man, as well as CSI:Miami. CSI:NY should be the one being canceled their shows this year seemed off & with the thought that 2 of the main ppl might be leacing the show, then why not cancel it instead. Casue if those 2 ppl leave the show I would be watching it any more. why get rid of good shows cause to replace them with junk. I am kind of giving up on tv any more, there is so much junk on it. Its a waste of my time.

I’m disappointed in “Unforgettable” being canceled, because it’s just a different concept. I really have enjoyed it.

I think cbs made a bad move, when they canned the best show on tv. CSI MIAMI

I can’t believe that A gifted man and Unforgetable have been cancelled. I really enjoyed both of them. Shame on you.
