The crazy fans will note that I "pushed" on a prediction for Fringe this season with it as a "toss up" for renewal or cancellation all season. As I noted elsewhere, no guts, no glory, but apparently all the whining from fans!
Otherwise, I predicted all the Fox renewals and cancellations correctly this season, most far in advance.
With that the Index bids the 2011-12 Fox season adieu, there will be no more Fox Renew / Cancel posts until September. Happy summer Fox!

Notes:
-
- certain to be cancelled by May, 2012 -
- more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2012 -
- toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2012 -
- more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2012 -
- certain to be renewed by May, 2012
The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).
(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

FRINGE – 13 (+1)
RAISING HOPE – 7 (-1) I sense a quick death… lol.
The Finder is great — why couldn’t they just give it a chance !!!!
FRINGE – 12 (-1)
RAISING HOPE – 8 (+1)
@Nick
But not so fast, lol.
Quote from The X Files [2.8]:
Mulder: I brought you a present. It’s a video. “Superstars of the Superbowls.”
Scully: I knew there was a reason to live.
@Rebecca ya I’ve heard of lovefilm, but I think I’d just rather buy dvds/blurays especially if I can get them cheap…
I mean I managed to get season 1-3 boxset (blu-ray) of Fringe for 30euro inc. p&p …
@Liz
I like Cartoons, it’s the only thing I watch on Fox.
Fox killed Finder by constantly pre-empting and rarely advertising it.
Worst time slot. Finally a show that used ‘brains’ instead of violence,
gore and perversion. And it was funny, quirky and a bit outlandish but
none the less entertaining. Give it another chance!
To the people doping the FF”fringe” and shaking their stupid heads get a clue “Fringe” will be in it’s fifth season next year and goes into syndication next year which will help defray that series production cost because of the revenue that will come from syndication, except for “Bones” and “House” none of the other series FOX air can go into syndication, there have been series sold into syndication with less than 4 seasons.
With “Fringe” in syndication that money goes to the producers, production and Warner Bros who produce the series, and the money from syndication will help pay for the series production, and the stars had 5 year contracts and two of them have already expressed 5 years is good enough for them. The female lead stated she would like to wrap up the series at 5 seasons and the future episode they aired this season Anna Torv wasn’t in the episode. John Noble also expressed wanting to wrap up the series in 5 seasons, he was featured in the episode that takes place in the future.
The series couldn’t continue with out John Noble they had a replacement who was the future daughter of Anna Torv’s character playing an agent in the future.
“Fringe” is actually going to be less expensive for FOX to have on their schedule than any other series they currently have on the air. The cost of production being partially covered by syndication distribution.
Please tell me what other series FOX currently have on the air that can go into syndication next year? “Glee” just wrapped or will wrap up their 3rd season.
FOX can pay the same price to air “Fringe” and not have to shell out more money.
That’s the incentive for FOX renewing “Fringe” it’s not crimping their bottom line they can charge what they charged this year for ads, and will make more money since there is no pressure on the production company and what FOX pays them to distribute/air “Fringe”.
the other series on FOX only make money for FOX from whatever FOX gets in upfront ad money, “Fringe” doesn’t have that problem.
No surprises here.
There is a ‘Save The Finder’ campaign going on at USA Network. Go to USA Network on facebook and put in your request to help this effort.
FRINGE – 11 (-1)
RAISING HOPE – 9 (+1)
But I will probably start voting the other way soon, because starting on Saturday I will finally get to enjoy the first season of Fringe!

Keep the FInder!! Needs more publicity!
FRINGE – 12 (+1)
RAISING HOPE – 8 (-1)
@TvFreak That’s great
I was hoping my season 1-3 blu-ray would have arrived today in time for the weekend but it didn’t
I wanted to make a start on season 1 tomorrow
UGH!!! I am so MAD that FOX cancelled Alcatraz!!! Good bye FOX. That was and is the only other show I have watched on FOX. Your other shows FOX are just plain HORRIBLE!!! I mean the cartoons, REALLY??? They are just plain STUPID!!!!
FRINGE – 13 (+1)
RAISING HOPE – 7 (-1)
@Mike I liked Alcatraz too, shame it got canned
Does Fox even own Fringe? If they did the show would have be cancelled years ago.
@Herb what on earth are you talking about??
Fringe was a massive success in its first season, did very well in its 2nd season…ratings went down in season 3 so it was moved to Fridays..where it preformed very strongly before spring.
FRINGE – 14 (+1)
RAISING HOPE – 6 (-1)

@Dennis
Fringe is a welfare show. Fringe would have been cancelled if it wasn’t for the studio paying Fox to keep it on the air. I don’t see this show doing well in syndication, if people didn’t bother to watch it once a week why would they watch it 5 days a week. Netflix might help it, I never saw Lost until it was on netflix.
FRINGE – 13 (-1)
RAISING HOPE – 7 (+1)
quote from The X Files [3.12]:
Mulder: Yeah, I had a praying mantis epiphany and, as a result, I screamed. No, not… not a girlie scream, but the scream of someone being confronted by some before unknown monster that had no right existing on the same planet I inhabited. Did you ever notice how a praying mantis’ head resembles an alien’s head? I mean, the mysteries of the natural world were revealed to me that day, but instead of being astounded, I was… repulsed.
Scully: Mulder…are you sure it wasn’t a girlie scream?
FRINGE – 14 (+1)
RAISING HOPE – 6 (-1)
I don’t exactly watch Fringe, but I’m looking into it. Raising Hope too. But out of what I saw of each, I liked Fringe better, so…
