NEW YORKERS FLOCK TO ’30 ROCK’
New York, May 15, 2012 – New Yorkers love the syndicated episodes of “,” which is set in Midtown Manhattan at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. In fact, ratings for “ ” have increased 60 percent over the show it replaced, megahit “The ” (WNYW at 11:30 pm daily), in the first full week (ending May 6) of the all-important May sweep.
“” also spiked in the demos compared to what “The ” did a year earlier, beating the animated hit series by 83% among both women aged 18 to 49 and 25 to 54.
For the country as a whole, “” was the second highest rated new, off-network sitcom in syndication – behind only “ ” -- for the week ending May 6, growing 8% from the week before to a 1.3 national .
The show, which is distributed by NBC-Universal Television, averages about 2-million viewers daily in syndication and stars Long Island native Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey.
