Made In Jersey

everyone look at the youtube webpage of elementary!!! 130 comments within less than half hour, and 64 like, 260 dislike!!! the show is a hit, in a bad way!!!

  • JRooks

Good Lord these things look like garbage. I was hoping Elementary might be ok, but it looks rubbish compared to Moffat’s Sherlock…never mind the fact that Watson/Holmes works best as a bromance. The rest of this stuff looks too terrible to even consider watching.

  • Sheena

I don’t know what is wrong with me. With the exception of ‘The Big Bang Theory’, (and ‘Two and a Half Men’ when Mr. Sheen was still on) I don’t like anything CBS puts out. I guess I am just not big on procedural stuff.

‘Elementary’ looks promising though, if done right. He kind of has the mentality of ‘The Mentalist’ guy, to me. I wonder if there is going to be that muted flirtation between him and the woman working alongside him. With this batch, this is the only one I can picture myself coming close to liking. I will add it to my list.

I don’t have much to say about ‘Vegas’. I am not sure how well period-shows are doing. I wonder if it will start out strong but then falter. ‘The Playboy Club’ but with a police force, was what I was thinking when the ladies came up. But again, not my genre.

When I first saw ‘Made in Jersey’, I thought ‘Fairly Legal’ as well. At first I thought she would bring a ”Legally Blonde’ but in Jersey’ girly aspect, when she said that thing about the manicure, in the first part. That would actually be interesting, maybe. I like the family-life aspect. I will give it a try.

‘Partners’ was on my list, but now I almost want to take it off. If it weren’t for the fact that a gay couple are the writers, I would say they were stereotyping the gay character. I know it makes for comedy, but I would like to see a character who wasn’t always so flamboyant. And why would putting your face in a girl’s boobs make you feel better? Now that I think of it, ‘Will and Grace’ did that too. I didn’t get that part. I will try an episode and see if the characters actually have some depth.

“He kind of has the mentality of ‘The Mentalist’ guy, to me.”
    Patrick Jane > Elementary.

Elementary is going to be hit no matter what because of the views & such it is getting. But the same thing was said for The Playboy Club and that turned out to be a disaster. We’ll never know really. The trailer also proved to me that Lucy Liu is still a terrible actress.

Wow really? Terrible joke it is then. Know bunch of college buddies and there friends of friends of friends (and so on) who watch NCIS, Criminal Minds and such. The G-Pa/Ma is a stupid thing really.

The hot chick lawyer show is the USA “Fairly Legal” rip off with a dumb Jersey stereotypical attitude played off of it. Also it’s premiering on a Friday night time slot. Expect “A Gifted Man” ratings and May 2013 cancellation (just my guess).

    CBS shows look pretty bad

  • Barb

No interest whatsoever for Elementary. Already got Sherlock and that is more than enough (quality vs. quantity for sure).

I don’t watch any CBS shows, period. I have nothing against the network. It is just that none of their shows appeal to me or hold my attention and haven’t for years. Last CBS show that I remember watching regularly was the first two seasons of the original, CSI. I do occasionally watch syndicated CBS shows like NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother and Two and a Half Men on cable and I still don’t like any of them.

  • Fuzhi

I think Vegas and Elementary looks promising. Obviously Elementary will be nowhere near the quality level of the BBC Sherlock but less can also be ok.

Partners looks almost exactly like Will & Grace and I think it could become a hit, but I have no interest in seeing the same old jokes again.

  • Agnes

I’m not a fan of CBS shows in general, but I thought there were some new 2011/2 shows worth checking out – 2 Broke Girls, Unforgettable and Person of Interest. While its true that I ended up dropping POI after 2 episodes and 2BG and Unforgettable after 5 epsiodes, I am at a loss as what to sample from CBS this year – nothing appeals.

  • Mi

I pass on all of CBS’ new shows.. will stick to POI and that’s it.

  • Colin

CBS has terrible new shows… FOX is the only one I will watch all new shows… FOX always has best shows. ABC and NBC has 2 trailers ill watch in fall season.

  • MissJo

    Nothing very interesting.

Elementary looks bad. Lucy Liu doesn’t really fit with the story.
    Vegas didn’t impressed me.
Made in Jersey looks boring. Beside being in NYC, I don’t see how it could fit well between CSI:NY and Blue Bloods.
Partner looks ok but nothing special.

  • It’sBroccoli

Vegas looks terrible. The worst new show on all 4 networks judging by the trailers.

Partners seems like something I’d like – except for the added background laughters! I don’t get what’s the point in that. It’s really distracting. It’s like they think their show isn’t funny enough on it’s own so the audience need to hear laughter to realize the jokes are funny. Such an annoying and stupid way to ruin a show.

  • andré L.

    Dennis Quaid is here!

  • Christian

@Sheena There’s nothing wrong with you! Besides The Good Wife and Big Brother, I don’t watch anything on CBS because procedurals just bore me to tears. And like you, I was willing to give Partners a chance, despite my aversion to CBS’ sitcoms, because I love Michael Urie and Sophia Bush but that trailer was really bad. I’ll probably sample it if CBS puts it up on demand but otherwise? I think I’ll pass. It starts at 8:30 and I don’t watch HIMYM so the timeslot is inconvenient for me and I’m not going to rearrange my schedule for a show that looks like crap.

While I’m not a fan of CBS procedurals I did check out the trailers to see if anything jumped out at me like The Good Wife, Cane and Person of Interest did in the past but these shows all look horrible. I’m surprised so many are saying Lucy Liu is a terrible actress. I haven’t seen her in much but she was brilliant in Ally McBeal and she even received an emmy nomination for it. If I were willing to give that show a chance it would be for her, but it’s against Scandal so that’s a no go for me. I hope CBS starts faltering in the ratings. Maybe that will encourage them to try new, exciting stuff.

  • Azzman

Elementary looks like the only one I’ll watch cuz I’m a Sherlock Holmes fan and I happen to like Lucy Liu..Kind of feels like the new 11th Hour to me, which is no problem for me cuz I loved 11th Hour (AND THEY TOOK IT OFF–THE BASTARDS!)…ahem…

  • Marcos

all looks awful. CBS sucks!! this season new shows from all networks looks dreadful. at least we have some freshman from last year

  • RidersDX

I’m a bit cautious when it comes to CBS dramas because I really dislike procedurals. But hopefully, Elementary is more then that like Person of Interest was, because that one has some potential.

And Partners looks like something I’d like. I never got to see Will & Grace, so this is perfect!

  • forg

Will check out Elementary (I like BBC’s Sherlock too but I find the fan outrage silly, until an episode is aired I will give the show the benefit of the doubt), Vegas and Partners.
