This season was 24 episodes. That sounds about right.
To the two people who said they shouldn’t have cancelled TSC and they must be regretting it.
Erm, NO.
The Secret Circle was in season one, 90210 is in season 5. Says it all!
@ Jamie
Exactly it has now passed syndication so is no longer needed in order to gain that 88 episodes they want.
90210 will now crash and burn and dwindle into an embarrassing end same as Gossip Girl. I’m sure the CW will be so proud.
@Pete
And you know this how exactly?
Well, obviously, because they renewed 90210 and canceled TSC!
More specifically, 90210 is the only drama on the CW that is produced exclusively by CBS that is anywhere close to syndication. CBS is footing half of the costs, but is getting nowhere near half the revenue if they don’t have 90210 pumping out episodes.
@ Ultima
Um 90210 has passed the number needed for syndication
Ringer/TSC – only in their 1st season
90210/GG – 4/5th season
how to compare(?)
Anyway, there’s nothing really stands out in 90210 season 4. They only focus on sex/relationship/triangles and PARTIES! Predictable and so damn boring.
Please, let season 5 be the last for 90210. They don’t need a sixth and final season, they have plenty of time to wrap things up in season 5!
Objectively, 90210 was a stronger performer this season than TSC, which had the best lead-in on the network. There was also no other place for TSC on the schedule – it seems that it was between that show and Nikita for that Friday timeslot, and something skewed it in Nikita’s favor.
Um, you say that only the 8 pm episode of Glee was adjusted up, but in the prelims, both were 2.4s and now they’re both 2.5s. Are you hiding things from us??
@Pete
Um 90210 has passed the number needed for syndication
I didn’t say otherwise. You do realize that episodes beyond 88 are still worth money in syndication, right?
(Or on Hulu, Netflix, etc.)
So they are speculated to be launching TCD over 90210 right?
Compared Viewers
90210:
season 1: 2.24 millions
Season 2: 1.82 millions
Season 3: 1.72 millions
season 4: 1.34 millions
TSC:
season 1: 1.83 millions
@ Ultima
You said “anything close to syndication” which as far as I’m aware means not quite at synidcation numbers yet.
@Nick
Gossip Girl is worse it got a 0.4 and 0.8 million viewers i dont know about you but its far worse than a 0.5 and 0.9 million viewers.
@Pete
You said “anything close to syndication” which as far as I’m aware means not quite at synidcation numbers yet.
Ah. I didn’t mean that 90210 wasn’t there yet, just that nothing else exclusively produced by CBS was anywhere close.
I think CBS will stick with 90210 as long as they possibly can, especially if neither B&B or First Cut does well next year.
@Joe GG won’t be cancelled it will be finished by then!
Jenny:
90210 Season FOUR finale: 0.97 million
Gossip Girl Season FIVE finale: 1.17 million
I think 90210 will have even worse ratings than GG this year
NCIS went over 19 million viewers. That makes the season 9 finale the highest rated finale they have ever had. Says so much about a show that can pull off an incredible, well viewed finale like that nine years in. The episode last night was awesome and my chin is still on the floor after seeing Ducky on the beach. My heart sunk
Yikes 90210, although the season finale was pretty bad. All of the storylines were incredibly lame, and Silver’s just makes no sense to me. Why would she want a baby if she’s in college (or did they all drop out or something)? And then to ask Teddy to be her baby’s dad? What?
I found glee to be incredibly boring. The best part was the body-swap but it was only 10 minutes and it basically focused on Rachel via Tina’s body, which was also lame. I was hoping for an entire episode where they were body swapped.
So The Secret Circle fans have now gone from blaming NIKITA/Hart of Dixie/GOSSIP GIRL and now 9O21O for their shows cancellation.
What’s next? The Vampire Diaries OR Supernatural?
