‘ACCESS HOLLYWOOD LIVE’ RATINGS RISE 83% IN LOS ANGELES
NEW YORK, May 17, 2012 -- “Access Hollywood Live” is becoming a Hollywood blockbuster in the important May sweep ratings period. Nielsen Station Index ratings for the daily entertainment talk show in Los Angeles (the country’s second largest market) have surged 83 percent in the week ending May 13, the second full week of the sweep, compared to the show’s performance a year ago.
Key demo ratings for “Access Hollywood Live” (seen at 11 am in Los Angeles on KNBC) are also up dramatically. Compared to last year at this time, the show blazed ahead 75% among women aged 18 to 49, 100% among women aged 25 to 54, and a staggering 200% among women aged 18 to 34.
But its home-town of Los Angeles is not the only place where the show is rapidly growing in popularity. “Access Hollywood Live” also scored double digit ratings gains in four of its seven largest markets.
The hot week for “Access Hollywood Live” was marked by appearances of such celebrity guests as rock star Courtney Love, actor Steve Guttenberg, the cast of reality TV’s “Sister Wives,” a stint as guest host by actress Lisa Rinna, best known from the soap opera, “Days of Our Lives,” and a live performance by jazz singer and trumpeter Chris Botti. Billy Bush and Kit Hoover are the hosts of “Access Hollywood Live,” which was recently renewed for next season and is produced by NBC-Universal Television.
