A thank you and saying the war is over. Then why are our guys still getting killed?

Afghan President Karzai Thanks US for ‘Your Taxpayers’ Money’

CHICAGO – Afghan President Hamid Karzai thanked the United States today for shouldering much of the cost for the decade-old war in Afghanistan, as the NATO alliance readies to hand over primary responsibility to Afghan security forces.

“I’m bringing to you and to the people of the United States the gratitude of the Afghan people for the support that your taxpayers’ money has provided us over the past decade, and for the difference that it has made to the well-being of the Afghan people,” Karzai said after his meeting with President Obama ahead of the start of the NATO Summit.

The two leaders met in Afghanistan earlier this month where they signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement outlining plans for the U.S.-Afghan relationship from the withdrawal of U.S. troops in 2014 through 2024.

Obama said today that the NATO Summit will be largely devoted to “ratifying” the plan to draw down U.S. and NATO forces and to “painting a vision, post-2014, in which we have ended our combat role.”

“The Afghan war as we understand it is over, but our commitment to friendship and partnership with Afghanistan continues,” he said. “Both of us recognize that we still have a lot of work to do, and there will be great challenges ahead. The loss of life continues in Afghanistan; there will be hard days ahead. But we’re confident that we are on the right track, and what this NATO Summit reflects is that the world is behind the strategy that we’ve laid out

    You gotta read this!
N.C. Teacher Tells Student He Could Be Arrested for Talking Badly About Obama

Last Monday, a high school student in North Carolina engaged his social studies teacher in a heated debate about politics and the two leading presidential candidates. During the exchange, the teacher (an obvious Obama supporter) got very angry with the student and accused him of disrespecting the president. She even went so far as to tell the boy that he could be jailed for speaking ill of Obama.

Schultz must be in competition with Matthews to see who can say the dumbest sh$@

Ed Schultz: Most Under-Covered Story Right Now Is Wealthy Not Paying ‘Fair Share’ of Taxes

Although it may not surprise NewsBusters readers, it appears MSNBC’s Ed Schultz doesn’t pay any attention to what he says, what others on his network report, or what is covered by any mainstream media outlet.

What else could be the explanation for Schultz claiming in an interview with Talking Points Memo that the most under-covered story in the country right now is wealthy people not paying their “fair share” of taxes (question in bold):

What’s the most under-covered story right now?

That the wealthy doesn’t pay their fair share. I used to be in the middle class, now I’m in the 1 percent. I can’t believe the tax cuts that are available. I’m living it. I can tell you that it wouldn’t affect me a bit if the rates went to 39 percent. Most of the people in the major media are in the 1 percent. There aren’t any poor cable hosts.

For how many months have the press focused on the so-called “Buffett Rule” as well as the complaints about “one percenters” by the ne’er-do-wells at Occupy protests around the country?

It’s practically been 24/7 on Schultz’s own so-called news network and throughout the liberal media.

Yet this nincompoop says this is the most under-covered news story right now.

Gives you quite a sense as to the pulse Schultz has on what’s being reported.

On the other hand, given how little he knows about what’s happening in his own industry, it shouldn’t be all that surprising he also has no clue what’s going on in the nation.

Explains a lot when you think about it.

Protesters and Police Clash at NATO Meeting; 2 Held on Terrorism Charges

CHICAGO — Protesters at the NATO summit meeting clashed with the Chicago police late Sunday as officers tried to disperse thousands of people who had gathered several blocks from the site of the meeting and refused demands to leave.

The standoff, which lasted several hours, grew intense as police officers, some in riot gear and gas masks, and protesters, some wearing all black, confronted one another, and shoving and scuffles broke out.

Some among the hundreds of officers repeatedly struck protesters with police batons, and some protesters threw red paint, a bucket, sticks and more at the line of officers. As the clash went on, mounted police officers could be seen equipping their horses with protective masks.

At one point, an officer emerged from a scrum of people with his arm firmly around the neck of a protester, who appeared to be in distress. At another point, a demonstrator shoved an officer to the ground, before another officer pulled him to safety.

About 45 protesters were arrested on Sunday, and at least four officers were injured, according to the Chicago Police superintendent, Garry McCarthy. It was uncertain how many protesters were injured.

“Make your hypocritical comments regarding me all you wish, I could care less YOU do not exist anymore!” What took you so long? I never read the solid cap. 2 and three initial people (?) ever, even when it is about me. I enjoy d.d., but she is lower case and separates herself from the upper case crazies. Good move, d.d. Jeff, can you believe that by the time this election is over, each side may have spent 4 bill.? Millions of Americans going to bed hungry and this is what we get? I can’t stand d’s or r’s and long for a solid third party. Until that time, I will vote anyone but a repub: The reason being, the country goes into the garbage pail every time they hold office. The S. Court is so far right now, can’t go much further and that C. United was a bad, bad move. See you, Jeff.

China firm buys AMC to form world’s largest cinema chain

(CNN) — China’s Dalian Wanda Group and AMC Entertainment announced Monday a $2.6 billion deal to take over the U.S. theater group, forming the world’s largest cinema chain, according to a new release on the deal.

The move is the latest in a raft of deals between U.S. entertainment companies and Chinese firms, linking the world’s largest theater market with the world’s fastest growing.

Well, goooooood morning, RBoy. Here is something you and I can agree on: I can’t tolerate that awful, Emanuel and thought he did an terrible job in the Obama W.House. I was happy to see him go. Why was I paying the likes of him? He enjoyed bashing ‘the base’, every chance he got. No wonder the Pres. got the ax in 2010. You don’t bash the people who worked hard, gave money, then expect them to show up. Geez, you learn that in Psych. 101, but Dear. Mr. Emanuel never learned that lesson or flunked the course. Remember the ‘old’ saying: “You get more bees with honey.” Right? W. was charming and only catered to his base, the rich, and never knew anyone else existed and it worked for him!

Can you tell I loved the bejesus out of Rice. A US Margaret Thatcher. I have seen her dish it out across both sides of the political family. When she does, it is factual, pointed, and cuts them to the quick. No off the cuff, she does this by anticipating what she will be hit with. Great lady.

OK, I get it: You like her and I don’t. Isn’t freedom of speech grand? Happy we are still free, thanks to you, us. Later.

BOA has tanked as well….awhile back When it was 4 bucks a share we bought a lot of shares and around 90 days later i set a sell price and made 13k. Not a bad return! :) With the drop in BOA recently it is making my mouth water again. I thought about that when GM and Chrysler were low but didn’t act…… I should of!!

Also bought some FB stock and have little doubt it will remain low for too long. We will see.

Hope you had a great weekend.

My Brita filter fell off my water spout and BROKE my coffee pot!!!! Will be getting a new coffee maker now. :(
