blah blah blah CBS, yup Person of interest edged on venues, but was destroyed by Grey’s in the important demo, and again The Mentalist smashed Scandal, but was ahead by only 0.1 in the demo versus scandal. spin spin spin

I hate them puting The Mentalist on Sundays. Why did they do that? Bad decision. What happens during NFL football?

  • Jenny

@SherLOCKED (The Mighty Cringe) “Nice score for Mentalist! I swear it’s gonna drop like a rock when moved to Sunday though….

I agree ! The Mentalist’s season finale scored a 2.5. but since it is moving to Sunday at 10 pm next year, it will average below 2. CBS put this show to Sunday after The Good Wife, where it will die
CBS moving The Mentalist to 10pm Sunday, following ‘The Good Wife’ at 9pm, insures The Mentalist will be canceled.
The only question is: will The Mentalist be canceled mid-season, or will CBS let it slowly die with dropping ratings for the full year?

    1. The Mentalist is going up against NBC ratings powerhouse NBC NFL Sunday Night Football, which alone will destroy The Mentalist ratings.
    2. CBS has NFL football games in the morning and afternoon on Sundays. That causes program delays in the evening on CBS, so viewers never know when their show starts. This will hurt the ratings.
    3. The Mentalist will be following ‘The Good Wife’ , a show with low and falling ratings, not a good lead in for The Mentalist. This will hurt the ratings.
    4. There is not a lot of overlap between the viewers of The Mentalist and ‘The Good Wife’. This will hurt the ratings.
    5. The Mentalist ratings have been dropping all year, this trend would have continued next year regardless of the time slot, but the move to a Sunday night slot will accelerate the dropping ratings.
    6. CBS has NFL football games in the morning and afternoon on Sunday. That causes program delays in the evening shows on CBS, so viewers never know when their show starts. This causes people a lot of trouble in trying to record the show. If they can’t easily record it, the will give up watching it all together. This will hurt the ratings.

CBS moving The Mentalist will insure The Cancelation Bear on tvbythenumbers will be fed next year

Enjoy it while you can. The doomsayers are coming out on The Mentalist’s move to Sunday, and (according to them) the Cancellation Bear is going to make a tasty meal out of Patrick Jane. :/

To great shows. The Mentalist and Person of Interest. Such twists on both shows. I love suspense..WOOOO!!

  • Dan

POI is such an amazing show. It already has the viewers so it was very smart of CBS putting it after 2 and a half men next season. Cant wait!!!

  • Bob

CBS is an incredible network. Not much negative about it. They get the most viewers all the time and the key demo most of the time.

  • Marie

and another screw up with our shows but I have 3 tv’s and will watch the Mentalist on Sundays but why do this again to your viewers. so many good shows got the ax but they keep putting on stupid reality shows and singing and cooking-who cares about them I I guess I’ll be renting a lot of movies

@Jenny: >>> CBS moving The Mentalist will insure The Cancelation Bear on tvbythenumbers will be fed next year <<<

Don't you think, Jenny, that the Mentalist would be able to predict these things?

(I honestly don't know the premise of the show, having never watched it.)

"Cold Case" was on CBS Sunday nights for four(?) years followed by "The Unit," starring the real first black President of the USA (Dennis Haysbert from "24." Both were excellent shows. g.d. sporting events going O/T!

Wonder if the Cancellation Bear`s new fav show{now that Harry`s Law is gone} is The Menatalist? Now that CBS gave it the SUNDAY DEATH SLOT at 10pm with Football season approaching, The Mentalist wins it`s time slot BUT it may SKEW older viewers and we can`t have that now, All old viewers MUST DIE and according to NBC they must throw away their tv`s since their in the business of “monatizing” it`s audience…Have fun with Patrick Jane Cancellation RED Bear

  • gregg

okay, you use this against abc, their rating are high, bur abc gives it cti them in the rear when it comes to the demo

  • Wicked 7

It’s for the mentalist to go.
I haven’t seen bad writing in long time
ooo lets fake a death two? please .
There was lot better writing the first two seasons
    it’s becoming boring and stale.
Stringing us all along for last two seasons with super bad
super evil Red John who is he? The Mentalist feels like watching
Buffy The Vamprie with big evil being that can’t be killed or caught
Bruno Heller, Backed himself in the corner with Red John nonsense.

Maybe should be on hunt for better writers to take the slack were Heller
is failing. Now Red John owns a Casino okay?
A rich serial killer thats rich.

  • Marie

Person of Interest is the BEST show on TV if not in TV history. Excellent acting by all Cavieziel, Emerson, and Henson. I just love this show. Can’t wait for next season.

  • Tom

POI has really came a long way and has won me over. I think it survives and just gets better.

The Mentalist is a show that gives me mixed emotions. The show is Jane and the rest are there for filler or to support whatever he dreams up next. What the show needs is a few other story lines or more interesting story lines..
I think going darker is a good step. The show now borders on silliness and if they were to deal with realistic situations it would be better.

The premise of Person of Interest is truly fascinating. The USA has the technology, cheap enough to do these things right now. We lack the MORAL will and authority to use the information the machine produces wisely. Hence the 2 stars of the series revolves are, a former CIA agent Mr.John Reise (Jim Caviezel) recruited by a mysterious billionaire Harold Fusco (Michael Emerson) to prevent violent crimes in New York City. Detective Lionel Fusco, a crooked cop and Detective Joss Carter homicide detective Detective Joss Carter. Harold Finch machine builder sets parameters for machine to act and notify.

Opening voice-over on the series by Mr. Finch “You are being watched. The government has a secret system: a machine that spies on you every hour of every day. I know because I built i. I designed the machine to detect acts of terror, but it sees everything. Violent crimes involving ordinary people, people like you. Crimes the government considered irrelevant. They wouldn’t act, so I decided I would. But I needed a partner, someone with the skills to intervene. Hunted by the authorities, we work in secret. You’ll never find us, but victim or perpetrator, if your number’s up…we’ll find you.”

On March 14, 2012, CBS announced that the series had been renewed for a second season.

If you have a DVR box, I don’t see why there should be any problem watching the Mentalist. If you don’t like the way they are writing the show. Why don’t you write and tell them how to make it better.

I have always thought The Mentalist is just a poor man’s rip off of Psych on the much better USA network – same basic premise, except Psych is way more entertaining and way less up itself. Could never stand the lead actor when I lived in Oz and he was on TV there with his natural accent, then he bl**dy followed me here – ugh!

  • Zack

just set your dvr to record 30 minutes longer or so.If cbs plays games why couldnt the cw invest in the mentalist, are they not both warner bros? I think person of interest is warner also.
