HISTORY® ANNOUNCES NEW SEASON OF Ice Road Truckers
Premieres Sunday, June 3, 9pm ET/PT

THIS SUMMER

THE CRACK IS BACK

AND FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER

IRT VENTURES ACROSS THREE ROADS

MORE ICE CROSSINGS THAN EVER BEFORE

New York, NY – May 21, 2012 – Ice Road Truckers returns Sunday June 3, 9pm ET/PT. This summer, IRT pushes farther north than ever before, new roads, new ice, and a whole new set of treacherous challenges. This season, the drivers will face three roads, the most ever encountered on IRT.  The weather is the massive protagonist, as the Dalton faces the worst storms in recent times, while the guys in Manitoba are racing against ice literally melting under their wheels.

IRT vets Hugh Rowland, Alex Deborgorski and Rick Yemm are back, with Hugh and Rick handling the deadly roads of Manitoba Canada.  The Manitoba Winter Roads are 1,400 miles of twisting ice roads through some of the most remote and unforgiving terrain on the planet. The roads are marked by axle-crushing frost heaves, heart stopping ice crossings and frozen swampland.  But this year, unseasonably warm weather is melting the snow and ice, making for very intensely precarious conditions.

Alex is given the most dangerous assignment yet as he’s charged with hauling supplies up the Dempster Road, a road which connects the Klondike Highway in the Yukon to Inuvik, in the Northwest Territories and a road few have dared to travel! Many lives and livelihoods have been lost on the Dempster.  Alex has the trust and the chops, will he live up to those expectations.

The stakes are just as high for Hugh who has even more “skin in the game” as he partners up with a local trucking company in season six. He and Rick join forces to tackle the winter roads.

On the Dalton, crazy and treacherous winter weather has created the most dangerous conditions in years as new faces emerge and an old veteran returns! Former reigning “King of the Haul Road” Jack Jesse is back. Jack is the undeniable leader at the start, heading a pack of three new drivers who will all take on the Dalton.  The “Rookies” are Daryl Ward from Montana, who’s newly divorced, looking to make as much money as humanly possible so that he can one day set up a business for his son.  Ron “Porkchop” Magnum joins IRT from South Carolina. His own dad left him when he was a young boy, Ron is determined to give his own kids a stable life. But this is very foreign territory for Ron. Can he last the season is the question on his mind.  Finally, Austin Wheeler is the young gun.  At 22 years, he’s out to prove that age doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to heavy hauling on the Dalton.

Where is Lisa? We want Lisa back. Not watching it with just guys driving.

  • Kathy

You had a houseful of fans, men and women. We happily tuned in to watch another season and – No Lisa. Alex and Jack are good, but the rest – You should have moved heaven and earth to get Lisa back (and Maya; she was growing on us). Lisa won all our hearts forever when she stayed for that one last run to get supplies to the stranded people. Sorry, but we’re outta here.

The new season is weak. Even the kick ass theme music is gone. They are trying to turn the show into a big drama fest. Thy will be lucky if one of these new poser trucker queens does not kill themselves. Or maybe that is the idea for bigger ratings.

  • emmett

I almost forgot. The only reason my wife watches it with me is becase of Lisa and Maya. Loose the porkchop and the high school kid and give us some real female drivers.

  • Dwane Parent

no Lisa and no Maya, dumb ass choice. I’m out of here.

  • Bill Fireman

I agree with the consensus, I am not going to watch this season without Lisa Kelly being on the show. I had Sundays episode recorded and when I started to watch it tonight and discovered Lisa or Maya wasn’t there I erased it.

  • Judy mullins

Please bring Lisa back ,My husband and I loved to watch this show together never have missed a show but it just don’t seem the same without Lisa she just made the show don’t care much like watching it now please again bring her back.

  • Doug Sinclair

After watching the show, Lisa’s presence was definitley missed. Her spirit and eagerness to learn was a nice change from the constant bragging and complaining by some of the truckers, in particular the rookies. So no Lisa Kelly, no more IRT for me. Removed it from my DVR

  • Fred Longmire

The show is basically unwatcheable now. The new guys are full of themselves and Hugh is a danger to anyone and everyone near hi. Why they keep him around and let interesting people go is the mystery. One more hour available now each week.

  • Alan

I watched till I saw no ladies were on this season..then I quit. Without the ladies (pretty helped) the show is dribble and not worth watching. I was OTR from ’89 to ’96 and one bright thing about the day to day was the fact that there are some really pretty ladies in those trucks. If IRT cant get some on the show, and they should make an effort to do so ASAP the show will be dead fast…watch the ratings.

  • David

Huge mistake to drop Lisa Kelly. Uk ratings will plummet.

  • Mawmawsue

Husband & I will no longer be watching without Lisa Kelly, watched first show of the season…..BORING
DELETED it from dvr.. Goodbye IRT YOU USED TO BE GOOD SHOW!

  • tina

I MISS LISA KELLY! BRING HER BACK TO ICE ROAD TRUCKERS.
LISA KELLY IS THE MAIN REASON WHY EVERYONE WATCHES THE SHOW!

WE MISS LISA KELLY …. SHE WAS THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Diane

Big mistake not having Lisa on the show. Please bring her back. I will not watch IRT this season. Diane

  • Kris

I wish someone would say what happened to Lisa. We are all wondering..wheres Lisa?? I would think they would want her. We all do!!!

  • Angela

We want Lisa……..We want Lisa…….She has to come back, she’s a great inspiration for Women !!!

  • Rob

No Lisa, no watch. Too bad, was a good show before all the egomaniacs took it over. Can’t wait to see Polar Bear, Rick and the 3 new idiots crash to the bottom through the ice. Too bad I won’t be seeing it.

  • Mike

So people only watched the show for the women? Lol figures, double dose of sexism. Anyway guys, just go surf porn, this is supposed to be a trucking show, or was until they jumped the shark last season with their over the top manufactured drama. Very little of the show is real anyway, but at least the first few episodes have been interesting.

In any case, Lisa didn’t want to continue the show so Carlisle fired her (the only reason they employed her I guess was for the show), but you don’t hear that because its hush hush.
