Our source for Live+7 DVR ratings includes only original, regular programs, excluding both repeats (which are unlikely to be heavily DVR viewed) and "specials". There were 64 such programs in the data for the week ending May 6.
During week thirty-three of the 2011-12 broadcast season (April 30, 2012 - May 6, 2012) Modern Family topped the rankings for the week's DVR viewing adults 18-49 ratings gains. Between the Live+Same Day period (as reported in all our other ratings posts) and the Live + 7 Day measurement periods Modern Family posted a substantial gain of 2.1 adults 18-49 ratings points.
Recently cancelled The Secret Circle had the largest percentage gain with a 80.0% 18-49 ratings increase from DVR viewing.
Modern Family led the absolute average viewership gained from DVR viewing adding 4.130 million viewers via DVR between the Live+Same Day and Live + 7 day measurement periods.

Definitions:
DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.
Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.
Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate
Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

Reading is Fundamental – Live + 7 – 1.0
Both are the least rated Live + 7 episodes. I know networks believe in ratings a lot. So, please bring new recurring stars to Supernatural.

Something seems to be off in the numbers for Smash (and who knows if anything else is wrong). For that week, its 18-49 rating was 1.8 not 1.7 and its overall viewers was 5.34 million not 5.239 million. This is according to TVBTN’s own final numbers post for May 1 (http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/05/01/monday-final-ratings-bones-how-i-met-your-mother-2-broke-girls-dancing-with-the-stars-adjusted-up-castle-adjusted-down/131754/)
And to follow up, if the Live + SD numbers are off for Smash, it’s possible the Live + 7 Day numbers are off as well.

The other episode was – The Born Again Identity – where they bring return of this so-called great angel. You know what, Sam and Dean are two babies who can’t even crawl. It is THE Castiel, who taught them how to walk and talk and no doubt we might even hear, Castiel taught Dean how to kiss.

Castiel did disastrous things in that episode – Reading in Fundemental and a lot more time is allotted to that character in the episode, than he really. This is what happens, when writers start fulfilling wishes of a few fans on internet.
I hope at least next episode DVR ratings improve.

Also off for Live + Same Day: Hawaii Five-0 – should be 2.5/10.91 instead of 2.4/10.836, Castle’s demo is right but viewers should be 11.08 instead of 11.095, Bones’ demo is right but viewers should be 7.16 not 7.14

I’m not the biggest Cas fan either, but I don’t blame every drop in the ratings when he pop up. If you happen to notice SPN is just about a 8 year show it’s OLD so it will shed in ratings. It happens to all shows when they age simple as that.

It’s probably just a coincidence that both Castiel episodes happened to be the lowest rated episodes of the season.
It’s funny how in the fall Modern Family was gettin a 7.0-8.0 after DVR numbers an now it’s down to a 6.2

The numbers in this post are the ones that Nielsen sent out today.
