Continuing our night by night look at the Fall 2012 schedule we move to Tuesday night.  Six new shows on the night: four comedies and two dramas. Along with Wednesday, the night with the most new shows.

ABC  doesn't have any rookie shows, but pushes Dancing with the Stars results show an hour earlier, and moves in a 2nd and 3rd year sitcom from other nights to 9pm, followed by Private Practice in the place of Body Of Proof.

Fox launches a 2 hour live action sitcom block led by relative ratings weakling Raising Hope. I am not hopeful.

NBC brings The Voice results show into the Fall along with rookie sitcoms Go On (Matthew Perry vs. Happy Endings which was renewed over his last sitom, Mr. Sunshine) and The New Normal, joining Tuesday fixture Parenthood.

CBS launches new drama Vegas where Unforgettable failed last season. Les Moonves is predicting victory, but Les is always predicting victory.

The CW goes all medical on the night, as Hart Of Dixie moves to a new night and leads into the new series Emily Owens, M.D. Sadly, Emily is unlikely to be the traffic draw for us that Ringer was last season. Whether it will live longer or not, we'll have to wait and find out.

Take a trip down memory lane with last season's 2011 Tuesday Fall schedule:

  • RJ

emily owens, ben & kate, vegas = DOA

  • Ollie

I shall be checking out this new programme, the new MORMAL.

  • joel

Go On is the best new program on this night.

  • Mary

I’ll definately be watching NCIS. That show is going to continue to dominate the night.

Tuesday at 10 is way too crowded. I can’t watch all three shows. I’d like to watch Vegas but I’m already invested in PP & Parenthood so it loses out. However, I do think Les Moonves is right. I do think Vegas is going to do very well. It’ll definately win the hour.

Speaking of Tuesday, I wonder if Hannibal is going to enter that slot come Spring. I bet it’ll either be scheduled on Tuesday or Thursday. I’m really looking forward to that show.

  • SteveO

9-10pm: blood bath. Hoping for New Girl to win 9pm, Apt. 23 to win 9:30.

But, seems unlikely that I’ll get both.

  • DW

i’m going out on a limb here but im going with emily beating go on in the ratings if the CW pushes it this summer and tells people where the cw is. B23 grew on me but i dont think it has longevity but i think it will beat mindy.
nothing is going to beat the NCIS shows.

  • Oliver

The Tuesday 9pm single-camera clash is a disaster. Their audience overlap must be huge, especially since New Girl and Happy Endings are practically the same show. Someone needs to back down, preferably ABC, otherwise they’re all going to get crushed.

  • BoiseMAK

@Ollie – Awww, you beat me.

  • MoHasanie

Well, the NBC comedies have the advantage over ABC and Fox, cause The Voice can get 3.0+ which is a good lead in. DWTSR will only low 2′s, which can also help the ABC comedies, but old skewing DWTS and young skewing comedies don’t go well together.
Fox will probably have a difficult night. Raising Hope starting the night was a bad decision since its ratings are so bad. New Girl was getting low to mid 2′s against The Voice, so it will probably get low 2′s against ABC and Fox comedies.

  • SmG

I hope Parenthood survives another season and get a few additional episodes order and up the number of episodes to at least 18 this season. I don’t care much about the rest :)

I think 9 p.m shows will kill each other. And if you check out Emily Owens’ promos at CW youtube channel, you’ll see more dislikes than likes and almost everyone predicting it to be DOA. It is the “death spot” which killed Life Unexpected, Hellcats, Ringer and Melrose Place so it will be a real surprise if it survives.

  • Gustavo

    I will watch: 8:30 Ben & Kate . 9:00 Emily Owens.

  • Oliver

Looking at the schedule, the easiest answer to the clash is for ABC to swap Nashville from 10pm Wednesday with Happy Endings/Apt 23. Nashville probably has more overlap with the older audience of Dancing With The Stars anyway.

HE/Apt 23 would also be good counter-programming to CSI/Chicago Fire too.

  • Victorius

Emily Owens M.D. is a terrible name for a show.

  • psychic

Apparently Lifetime and TNT are both ‘eyeing’ Unforgettable…

  • Bob

I will be watching CBS shows, back and forth Dancing with the Stars Results. I want Parenthood to make it to syndication and the rest should be cancelled.

  • Bunny

New Girl and NSCI LA is going to destroy Happy Endings

  • Aeiouy

Finally a night with more than two shows worth watching.

  • psychic

Go On is perhaps the worst name for a television show that I’ve ever heard. Perhaps next to ‘Work It!’.

  • Andrea

This is a no brainer, CBS will dominate. The Voice will do okay and multiple of the comedies will struggle.

  • LLL

    @Oliver
That swap is actually a good idea, since both comedies’ sketches fit the 10pm hour. Nashville on Tuesdays at 9pm will have to fight some tough competition but it may work. If not Body of Proof can squeeze right there or swap times with private practice.
