Round 2 of the NBA Playoffs took the top spot on cable Sunday, earning a 2.0 18-49 rating. Game of Thrones was a close second, also scoring a 2.o 18-49 rating, up a tenth from last week.
We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our principal source. If you don’t see an original episode of a show here, it’s because it wasn’t in the top 100.
The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search - that's probably the easiest way to find Veep.
Update: extra shows (including Nurse Jackie and Girls) via commenter Nick are below the normal table as well as the comments.

@Barbarossa
Strictly speaking, yes, we can discuss. Administrators never actually said a word against this. But, we gotta respect this website and this website is dedicated to ratings. We can’t discuss only about quality and story of shows exclusively, but we can discuss about both shows after the traffic comes down. This usually happens about one hour or one and half hour after the ratings are posted.
Edit to my earlier post…
We can’t discuss only about quality and story of shows exclusively, but we can discuss about both about rating and quality of shows after the traffic comes down.
I can’t understand why VH1 is pushing ahead so much with the Mob Wives brand.
The original is just going lower and lower weekly and now they are getting ready to premiere a Chicago version and a spin-off starring Big Ang. Ridiculous.
A Real Housewives franchise this is NOT.
Oprah’s Next Chapter…333,000 TvHH, .3 rating.
This weeks episode of Nurse Jackie was so damn good. loving this show.
Thanks so much Nick!
@xwiseguyx – Flipped Off at 10P on A&E pulled in 680K viewers with a .28 in the A18-49 demo. The 11P airing averaged 522K viewers with a .23 in the demo. Meanwhile, over on HGTV at 9, Meg’s Great Rooms had 652K viewers with a .12 in the demo.
Does anyone know how many viewers the new Spider Man cartoon and the Avengers got on Disney XD? I’ve googled this to no avail. Thanks.

Avengers (Disney XD)

@Chris…
If you’re under the impression Mad Men is being padded, I can’t imagine you’ve actually been watching. The story of the series is the 60s itself–you know, one of the most turbulent periods in American history. There is plenty of “story” to justify the next two (final) seasons, which it is contracted to run for.
The ratings, even this past week, are in-line with the average viewership last season. The numbers were never going to remain as high as they were because there just aren’t enough viewers who want to sit through a slow boil drama where you have to judge the show based on a whole season rather than the single episodes–how many times has The Wire been called the greatest tv series of all time (it is, IMO), but check out the ratings it struggled with through its five season run, because it demanded close attention to detail and had to be judged like a jigsaw puzzle…only after it is complete can you look over it and see exactly where everything fit into place. It’s a little different with Mad Men because advertising money comes into play, but with the show’s growing pop culture identity and DVD sales, AMC isn’t suffering because of MM.
@Sun Drop Forever
Breaking Bad is perfectly fine with the budget it has. It is as great a show as Mad Men, if not better, and will be fine no matter what misinformed budget concerns you have about MM.
Walking Dead has only earned a higher budget based on the monster (no pun intended) ratings. As per quality, it’s mediocre and doesn’t deserve anything more than what they have unless they show an marked improvement in the writing department. They faltered when they decided to stray so far from the comic and dumbed it down for a mass audience.
@CCV – I agree, and thanks for raising the level of discourse.
@AC GoT is a series you must watch the 1st season of to fully appreciate what’s going on in the 2nd season, there’s too much character building you’ve missed out on if you didn’t see the 1st season.
I’ve read all the books, and I cannot wait to see how they portray the next 2 seasons.. Many people say the 4th and 5th books weren’t as good, but I think they’re great. The problem is that they came after the 3rd which just puts everything else to shame. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but yes magic becomes a bigger element in the future, and in the next book that’s not out yet I have a feeling that the magic and prophecy elements are really going to take over.
@ CCV,
I agree that the comic is better and the show could be much better, but quality shouldn’t have anything to do with it’s budget.
@ Nick: Thanks, dude.
Look, I’ll start off by saying that I’m a fan of The Killing. At first I thought it was a bit tedious but as the mystery evolved I became appreciative of the somber mood the show sets as well as the heavy emphasis on character. The relationship between Holder and Linden facinates me almost as much as the mystery itself because they are both flawed characters, yet very driven.
The Ratings are admittedly terrible, but after researching it on Wikipedia I’m not so sure this show is headed for the scrap heap yet. Both Mad Men and Breaking Bad went through their ratings ups and downs before finding a stable audience. In fact, if you check some of the numbers both shows have had ratings just as low (and in some cases lower) than The Killing is suffering through right now.
As for LL constantly attacking Mad Men. I have never watched Mad Men for more than 5 minutes. I watched The Walking Dead for maybe half of an episode. It’s obviously a Ratings GIANT considering it’s a cable series, but I just dont see how you can constantly go after a show you’ve admittedly never watched just because some of their fans look down on the Zombie Genre. Hell if I attacked everyone who hated The Killing I’d be fighting the entire tvbythenumbers board it seems lol.
Anyway, just try to relax and enjoy things a little more folks. Afterall, when it comes down to it it’s all just entertainment. Hope to chat with you folks more as the summer progresses.
The Killing is the only show here even worth watching. Its a shame people like things simple and stupid. But how else can you explain someone watching Mad Men.
