Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

House did much better than I thought. It is a show that I could never watch for long. I am only sorry that Omar Eps is out of work.

  • GRD

I haven’t watched “House” in a couple of years, but I came back for the finale. It was a nice finish. It’s too bad the show didn’t stay strong over the years — a lot of that soap-opera crap was a waste of some great talent, Hugh Laurie’s especially. But there were a few really good seasons, at least.

  • saalim

Am not a house fan but its sad to ssee it go! But wat I dnt understand is why is greys anatomy still sucesfull ( although I love it so much), any one care to explain :-)

  • John A

House did ok. It was getting low 2.s for weeks so a 2.9 is good.

  • Andre

Nice finale. I’m going to miss House :(

  • Score

House did very well for its finale which is nice to see.

AGT continues to do well against tougher competition than usual. Quite a bit of that decline vs last week will because it was only 1 hour instead of 2 like last week. Last week it averaged a 3.4 in the 8pm hour, so as last night’s will probably be adjusted to a 3.2, it did well.

  • Frank

House has dragged on too long. Should have ended it’s misery last season .. or earlier.

  • Victor Hugo

lmfao at people talking about Carrossel!! Just brazilian people will understand it!

That weird week when almost every broadcast show has ended but the summer cabble shows haven’t begun yet!!! Well at least we are going to have Revenge SF and the premiere of Duets!

  • SmG

    Great finale and good ratings.

Goodbye Gregory House, you’ll be missed !

  • CT

Wait a minute…. are you telling me there was a show on last night called American Ninja Warrior? And I didn’t watch it??? If only I’d known!

  • sarah

Good numbers for House and a good ending.Too bad the show never recovered from that 5th-7th season “Huddy” soap opera mishap.
Loved what Hugh Laurie did with the retrospective, very interesting – you know that a lot of work goes into making a show, but it really is insane.
Gregory House was a truly great tv character.Everything comes to an end.

  • THADD

I wonder how AGT’s 2nd week compares to least season? That’s pretty solid numbers against DTWS, NBC has to be contemplating moving it to the Fall or mid-season.

  • Kenny

Wow. House did not go out with a bang in the ratings. Not even 10 million viewers there was a time that the show had 17-19 million an episode. It was time to end House, ratings wise due to the fact so many people have checked out.

  • hov313

That House Finale was excellent !! what a great way to send off a great show .. too bad cuddy couldnt appear in the episode

  • Ultima

    @THADD
I wonder how AGT’s 2nd week compares to least season?

Down from a 3.7; last year AGT didn’t fall this low until the quarterfinal results shows starting week six.

  • a p garcia

Good House went out with deceant numbers.

  • Tina

“Down from a 3.7; last year AGT didn’t fall this low until the quarterfinal results shows starting week six.”

Last year, AGT did not have major competition. You are comparing apples to oranges.

  • João Lukas

@glover the premiere of Carrosel last night was fantastic!!! I can’t wait for a new…

  • Erika

Good for DWTS. I think America’s Got Talent made a mistake by premiering while all the shows hadn’t finished with finales yet. I’m sure the DWTS crowd are people who watch AGT, but bc DWTS isn’t finished they haven’t tuned in to AGT. It was a somewhat satisfying ending to House, but it seems to do well in syndication as it airs on multiple channels so the legend lives on. I actually only started watching House a couple of years back bc of syndication, so I’m sure the show is loved by more than just 8.7 million.

  • Justin121

House became boring by season 5.
