As the 2011-12 broadcast season comes to an end tonight it's fitting that Wednesday night is the last night of the 2012-13 schedule we'll take a peek at (the other nights are here).

Six new shows on Wednesdays (same as Tuesday night).  Three new comedies, and three new dramas.

ABC puts rookie sitcom The Neighbors in the post-Modern Family "We really don't want to cancel this show" timeslot followed by the new musical drama Nashville.

Fox has sophomore The X Factor scheduled for two hours, instead of 90 minutes, with no 30 min "sitcom launch" slot. Perhaps Britney and Demi need that extra half hour, it certainly didn't do the sitcoms any good.

CBS goes with exactly the same line up as Fall 2011.

NBC puts two rookies into their 8pm comedy block, Animal Practice and Guys With Kids. New drama Chicago Fire follows Law & Order:SVU, which moves back to 9pm in a slot that didn't treat it particularly well in the past.

The CW pairs rookie drama Arrow with the relocated from Friday veteran Supernatural.

Take a trip down memory lane with last season's 2011 Wednesday Fall schedule:

  • Ben

I’m curios to see the ratings for SPN and Arrow

  • KevinSW

The Neighbors…is worse than Work It….seriously not even Disney Worthy just flat out….bad

  • Petar

FOX win here. Nashville can beat old csi and chicago fire. But too much musical dramas out there. At least for me.

  • alexjones

the CW lineup is the only thing that saves this from being a complete waste of time.

  • SteveO

Yeah you know whatever comedy follows Modern Family has the great favor of ABC.

  • fearless

Go CW!!! Will be watching Arrow and Criminal Minds… xD

  • Dan S

Neighbors will be the 1st outright flop to follow Modern Family. This doesn’t bode well for Nashville that follows at 10 pm. I’m looking forward to Arrow & will follow SPN to Wed.

  • alexjones

a mistake with the article, I believe the new CW dramas is called “arrow” not “the arrow”

  • rob60990

The Neighbors will lose huge chunks of Modern Family lead-in. Nashville’s only chance is if Modern Family has a 1 hour premiere. I think that is what helped Revenge.

FOX will easily win the night. X Factor may see a slight bump with Britney Spears as a judge but it won’t be long term. Will average in the 3s.

NBC will be easily 4th. This night has been bad for them for years. Last time they moved Law & Order: SVU to 9, it didn’t do so great. Chicago Fire looks decent and competition is weak. The 8pm comedies will bomb.

Arrow and Supernatural seem compatible so it can be a winning combination for the CW. This is definitely their 2nd strongest night.

  • Mary

I’m definately going to watch Criminal Minds. Nothing’s really on at 10. Neither Nashville or Chicago Fire sound good to me and I predict they’ll both bomb. I think I am going to start watching CSI again

  • DamC

ABC will fail with The Neighbors after MF, and it’s gonna be tough for Nashville.

NBC’s ratings will be horrible. Bring Whitney back and put Animal Practice on Fridays already. They should have switched SVU and Chicago Fire, with The Biggest Loser as a lead-in, but they had to put all these comedies on their schedule i guess.

FOX will win the night. TXF will star big then fall a bit then flatten and rise for the finale.

CBS are happy with what they got, can’t blame them for that

I pray for a CW success with Arrow. SPN fans will follow their show wherever it goes…

  • gerry

i’m really excited for arrow. hoping this could be the hit that cw so desperately needs. then over to abc for nashville. i hope its good because I THINK CONNIE BRITTON IS AMAZING!

    @alexjones, Fixed.

  • Victor Hugo

    My watch list will be
    – The Middle
    – Suburgatory
    – modern Family

    and the new one
    – Arrow -> promo are great
    – Nashville

  • hello

Think this will be CW’s best night of the week after Thursday, but i suspect that will not be really impressive since CW will continue falling.

  • Wright

Finally something good on a Wednesday. I will definitely be watching Arrow and SPN.

  • DW

again the cw has show they need to advertise to people that dont know where the CW is. this is a great lineup. arrow can win that slot if the show is good. x factor is not AI and survivor is an old show. i think Nashville will do well. country music sells well and it has that good nature hallmark feel to it but not enough to make it sappy.

  • Chuck_T

Given the competition, Chicago Fire might have a shot.

  • WKD2

The Neighbors will fail, Nashville will fail.
I will DVR Arrow to see if the do it as good all the way through as the promo looks. Still have to have my Survivor and Criminal Minds fix.

  • Gustavo

Imo Wednesday At 10pm will be the best hour of all:Nashville,Chicago Fire and in cable:Psych.Beside i will watch:At 9pm:Criminal minds.
