As the 2011-12 broadcast season comes to an end tonight it's fitting that Wednesday night is the last night of the 2012-13 schedule we'll take a peek at (the other nights are here).

Six new shows on Wednesdays (same as Tuesday night).  Three new comedies, and three new dramas.

ABC puts rookie sitcom The Neighbors in the post-Modern Family "We really don't want to cancel this show" timeslot followed by the new musical drama Nashville.

Fox has sophomore The X Factor scheduled for two hours, instead of 90 minutes, with no 30 min "sitcom launch" slot. Perhaps Britney and Demi need that extra half hour, it certainly didn't do the sitcoms any good.

CBS goes with exactly the same line up as Fall 2011.

NBC puts two rookies into their 8pm comedy block, Animal Practice and Guys With Kids. New drama Chicago Fire follows Law & Order:SVU, which moves back to 9pm in a slot that didn't treat it particularly well in the past.

The CW pairs rookie drama Arrow with the relocated from Friday veteran Supernatural.

Take a trip down memory lane with last season's 2011 Wednesday Fall schedule:

    Hey, Ryan H I agree with what others in this thread have advised – watch the show until it stops working for you. Because I strongly disagree with the idea that the show fell apart after season five (in some ways it fell apart in season five, because the show just didn’t have the budget to do the storyline they wanted properly), but unlike others I actually didn’t hate season six. In fact I mostly liked it. Was it all good? Of course not, but if you watch it all in one go (instead of with the choppy annoying in-season breaks) it plays much better then it did live.
    (Though I think that’s probably true with all the seasons, and maybe all shows ever for that matter.)

    Now for me personally the show truly fell apart in the middle of season seven, which is disappointing, because for me personally season seven had one of the (if not the) strongest start out of any season “Supernatural” has ever had, but for others they don’t feel like the show has fallen apart. And that’s why you should always keep watching a show until it stops working for you – don’t let others make that decision for you, because you might like it where others didn’t.

    @Ryan H

    Pay no attention to what KS says. He’s an idiot with no life.

    Supernatural is still enjoyable after the 5th season. Watch it and form your own opinon.

  • Ryan H

    Wow, can’t believe the amount of feedback ive gotten from this aha, supernatural is one of my favourite tv shows ever, i watched the first episode in the middle of feb and ive been constantly glued to it. I’m just about to watch the first and second episode of season 6 now. But either way im going to watch it till the end.
    Lets face it supernatural was only meant to have three seasons and then it got extended to five which was supposed to be the final season, but the ‘CW people’ must of seen something special in it to keep renewing it.
    Thanks for the comments, im going to keep watching it religiously because i know if i didnt i’d regret it.

  • KS

    @Robert

    Am I not supposed to express my opinions? That is what I have been doing. Why all of a sudden I am degraded to this level? Look, I always had the same opinions at any point of time and I a stand firm on them. I hate Castiel, I hate season 6 and 7 seasons of Supernatural. What’s wrong in that? I just advised the poster @Ryan H to stop watching the show, because it is not going to be any better after season 5. You may charge me for constantly bashing Castiel or constantly being negative, but don’t call me a troll and attach the tag beside my name.

    I have been respecting your website and its rules so far. This is the one of the very few websites I post. I have been posting on this website for the past 10 months, and I never had any bad remark for many months. Also, you never asked me to quit bashing Castiel. If you have done that I would have stopped it long back. All of a sudden you announce that I am about to be blocked in a few days and embarrass me on this website and hurt me.

    Anyways, Kudos to you for making me a troll, for wrong reasons, now I can’t post on any other wesbite and no one will respect my comments anymore. You must have blocked me straight away, without all this embarrassment. :(

    Let me tell you, you misunderstood me.

    Looked over the entire weekly offerings, and I’m really disappointed that there’s no sci-fi shows, other than Fringe, which will soon be gone.

  • stoner

    @KS

    The problem is, you’ve only been watching the show for only a short time and you act like you know everything about it and make the most assinine claims about the show and the stars. You don’t know squat, son. Just quit.

  • KS

    @Stoner

    You are talking as if everyone on internet is honest and don’t make false claims.

    FYI, I didn’t make any claims against the stars and I never acted like I know everything about the show. Give me some instances, where I acted like I know everything. As a matter of fact, I don’t know ‘everything’ about any thing existing in this universe.
    I DO KNOW about the show – I watched some episodes more than 100 times and watched the entire show at least thrice(including season 6 and season 7). I spent one of my vacations entirely watching only this show, for the first time ever in my life, spending vacation sitting at home. I care about what’s inside the show and I don’t give a damn about the behind-the-scene stuff.

    As everyone accepts Supernatural is NOT in its glory days. And yeah, there are a lot of things, I am not liking about the show, which can be corrected. So, I am requesting what I want in the show next season and complaining about what I didn’t like in the show in the past. That’s not called trolling.

  • Melanie

    No, KS ‘everyone’ does NOT accept that Supernatural is not in its glory days. I personally thought that season six of SPN was brilliant – it was different, yes. Because it was deliberately structured as noir.
    Obviously, it didn’t work for you. It did for me.
    Season seven to me is a little more uneven and I didn’t find the Leviathan to be as compelling as some previous villians, but I still like it better than I liked season three.
    You want to know how Castiel is viewed on other websites? @winchesterbros love all the characters, the actors and behind the scene crew. @Superwiki notes all aspects of the show canon and of fandom as well (including non-canon pairings) without judging. @winchesterfamilybusiness likes Sam, Dean and Castiel (and all actors & crew)and writes meta about canon and fandom and really all aspects of the show. There’s no Castiel hate at those sites.

    @Ryan Just keep watching and make up your own mind. Also I envy you being able to watch S6 all together without the seaosn breaks – the whole season is like a noir mystery film. Nothing is as it seems. ;)

  • stoner

    @KS

    “You are talking as if everyone on internet is honest and don’t make false claims.”
    So, you admit you’re an idiot?

    “FYI, I didn’t make any claims against the stars and I never acted like I know everything about the show.”
    In one of the Friday threads, you claimed that the whole fandom hates Castiel and Misha Collins. You even insinuated that J2 “don’t get along” with Misha. Are you really this ignorant? J2 and Misha are good friends and often joke around with each other on set. You obviously haven’t been to any conventions or watched the gag reels.

    “I care about what’s inside the show and I don’t give a damn about the behind-the-scene stuff.”
    Um, lol.

    “As everyone accepts Supernatural is NOT in its glory days.”
    There you go again, making false claims and acting like you speak for the fans and know everything.

    “So, I am requesting what I want in the show next season and complaining about what I didn’t like in the show in the past.”
    Haters be hatin.

  • Ryan H

    Okay, so I watched the first two episodes of season six and yes its on a different format then usual? I liked the return of arazel even though it was short. It seems like their is gonna be a lot of distance and trust issues between dean and sam but ive watched two episodes… I can’t really make a rash decision about it, but im still intrigued about where the season goes :)

    Castiel is my favourite addition to the cast. He is great, i’ve never really heard anything bad about him. Think him and dean are hilirous togetehr!!

  • KS

    @stoner

    So, you admit you’re an idiot?

    Of course, not. No person in the world would do that. I don’t know how you came to this conclusion.

    In one of the Friday threads, you claimed that the whole fandom hates Castiel and Misha Collins. You even insinuated that J2 “don’t get along” with Misha.

    I honestly don’t remember doing this. I don’t think, I have posted this. Show me the proof.

    Um, lol

    Lol – thank you for being there, when I have got nothing to reply.

    There you go again, making false claims and acting like you speak for the fans and know everything.

    I don’t need to add ‘IMO’ in front of every sentence in my post. The very meaning of “comment” is “expressing ones own opinion”. Its implied that every sentence in a post is opinion, not a fact.

    Haters be hatin.

    If some poster requests for something on the show in its next season, which you don’t like, and that poster becomes a hater, is it?

  • stoner

    @KS

    Wow. Dry wit is lost on you, isn’t it?

  • pandorajinel (formerly Erin)

    @Ryan H
    Your instincts about the story are very good, but don’t try to get too far ahead of the story the are telling. It’s more fun if you don’t.

  • Ryan H

    @pandorajinel (formerly Erin)

    Aha, thank you very much =)

  • tia

    @ks i think you crossed the line ON THIS WEBSIE-being it is a ratings website not really a spn site. although alot of us come here to talk spn sometimes-but anyway you crossed the line when you told ryanh not to watch spn but gave other shows to watch instead. that might have caught roberts eye. don’t know that for sure but that is trolling i believe. you just don’t do that kind of thing. opinion yes-but trying to ruin a show-thats something else.

  • Restless

    @tia
    Trolling is posting purposely insulting or drama laden comments trying to get a response and rile people up.

    That’s exactly what KS does. Doesn’t matter if you ignore him or try to reason with him, he just gets more hateful toward Supernatural, it’s characters and it’s crew, especially Castiel and Misha Collins. Maybe he’s not doing it on purpose and just isn’t a well adjusted person? Either way, I think he needs to learn some manners. You don’t get respect by being disrespectful to others and their opinions. Though I personally stopped taking him seriously back when he started attacking Misha and calling him ugly as a reason to hate him. I can’t take anyone seriously with claims like that.

    Though one of his latest attempts at trolling on this thread I find even more ridiculous: that there are only Dean and Sam fans, no Castiel fans; those are only Misha fans and they have a psychosis. Purposely stupid and attacking, so obviously fishing for a reaction.

    @Melanie
    I watched season six all at once, I too think it was really good. One of my favorite seasons, actually. Heck, rewatching the last episodes of season six almost makes me cry now. That whole season was pretty heartbreaking, and to steal a song quote, you can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness.

  • stoner

    @Restless – thanks for backing me up.

    Anyways, thread. I’m looking forward to this night in the Fall and I hope Arrow becomes a hit for the CW and Supernatural gets its second wind. They certainly deserve it. New night, new showrunner, things are looking up.

  • Snoot

    I’m a loyal Wednesday night ABC viewer and I don’t see that changing in the Fall.

  • GA

    Anyway to get through to the idiots producing the network shows to STOP PLAYING THE CRAPPY MUSIC ALL THE TIME OR AT LEAST TURN THE SOUND DOWN!!!

  • Melanie

    @Restless “That whole season was pretty heartbreaking, and to steal a song quote, you can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness.”

    This^^

    I get the feeling that in S8 they may ramp up the action and dial back on the angst a little bit. Bob Singer had an interview where he said they might lighten it up. I’m assuming they’re hoping that some ‘new’ audience from Arrow hangs around and watches SPN too. And you know, where they left S7 is a pretty good jumping off point even for casual viewers. A lot of the backstory of how the characters got into the predicaments they’re in isn’t necessary to understand the circumstances of them getting out — she typed cryptically trying not to spoil it for Ryan)if you get what I mean.

    I really hope that Arrow is a big hit for the CW. So far the ‘buzz’ on it is good.
