I like how everyone is predicting the cancellation of Glee but a 2.9 is fantastic for scripted programming on FOX. What other DRAMA on fox has gotten above a 2.5 in the last 4 months?
@Ben
Not really. Four seasons is a pretty respectable number in tv these days. The times of shows bringing in massive numbers and lasting a decade are over. Unless you are on seemingly super safe network like CBS, the chances of keeping a show on the air with high ratings decrease more and more with each passing season.
Everyone is laughing at GLEE now but watch what happens next season when 2.5 on FOX becomes the new 3.0 because so many other shows will struggle to reach the same damn number.
@Tommy I’m not saying it’s bad but compared to last year it’s a huge drop!
Unfortunately, Glee might be renewed past season 4 as long as it gets +2.0 ratings.
Which it probabely will being protected by X-Idol.
Otherwise, it’d be in the 1.0s by next spring, or fall, even.
I really, really think NBC shoud air comedies out of The Voice / AGT instead of Dateline and Fashion Star.
@Justin121 I agree! It would give the comedies potential new viewers and it’s pointless putting Dateline and fashion star there.
@Justin121
really? 1′s? Come on, even if you have an intense hatred of the show, you have to see that that type of prediction is completely over the top. LMAO.
@Tommy

House got a 2.9 on Monday! /snark
@Justin

Huh? Dateline is on Fridays and Sundays and Fashion Star on Sundays.
This summer they have American Ninja Warrior and Love in the Wild out of AGT and in the fall they have Revolution and Go On/New Normal out of The Voice…
@Ultima
True, haha. I just didn’t count “House” as it was the series finale…
@Max
Wasn’t Glee down to a 2.4 lately?
A big drop from the +4.5 ratings it was getting just last spring.
Given that, predicting 2.0-2.2s in the fall and 1.7-1.9s for the spring is not at all far-fetched.
@Max How is it over the top to think that? Last year it got 4.6 and so it’s down 1.7! I easily possible for it to fall into 1s next year.
We shall see.
For now, I think will GLEE see similar ratings to what they have this season with the chance of dropping a few tenths. I would be shocked if it headed anywhere close to the 1′s territory- even high 1′s. But, continue to predict (or wish) as you will.
I think it will drop becasue on twitter I saw that a lot of people where fed up with the show and have said they won’t be watching next season.
Yeah, good ol’ Twitter. Unfortunately, that’s the same measuring stick people use when talking about how often Gossip Girl is trending and yet… does nothing for the show’s ratings.
Only on a rare occasion (a show like SCANDAL) does high social media tend to reflect decent numbers.
I did say that IF it didn’t have the X-Idol lead-in.
i watched HOD it was actually good and it was a surprise that i liked it i will tune in next year for season 2.
oh Glee would have been in the 1s by spring if it stayed Tuesdays at 8.
Looks like everything was down from this night last year. Regardless, it must give Fox some concerns about the future of Idol and Glee to see such large drops. I was not impressed with Fox’s moves for next season and this just makes them seem even more troubling. Fox is hoping that the music competition shows (X Factor and Idol) will prop up and promote the rest of their lineup. I think they’re running a real risk of falling to 3rd place in the 18-49 demo next season.
Glee’s finale was terrible!
One of the characters who’s a cheerleader and won senior class president couldn’t graduate because she had a O.00 GPA..
How is that even possible??
@Tested

ABC hasn’t had year-to-year growth in since 2005-06, when their big hits were all in their second season and they had the Super Bowl. FOX would have to fall 25% year-to-year to reach ABC’s ratings.
FOX easily finishes second to CBS next season and then is back on top the following year.
