As another broadcast TV season slips into the rear view mirror, NBC Sunday Night Football finishes on top of the press release writer friendly but financially irrelevant total viewership rankings. The contest for second was a bit closer, as the Wednesday American Idol edged NCIS by 320,000 average viewers. Dancing with the Stars rounded out the top 6.

@Sports Preemption…so what you are saying is that if a show gets 100 viewers that are 18-49 and another show that gets 20 million viewers but only 10 are 18-49, they will cancel the 20 million viewer show and keep the 100 viewer show….no wonder network TV is dying.
Thanks NBC for canceling Harry’s Law you idgits. After reviewing there fall lineup the only new show I’ll watch is Revolution. I’ll still watch Grimm with P&R & that’s about it. I’ll be watching more of the CW than NBC after canning there most viewed scripted show. Obviously I’m over 50 so I don’t count in there almighty 18-49 demo anyway.
So less than 7% of Harry’s Law audience was in the 18-49 range? Wow that show is old skewing, too bad.
so both The Secret Circle and Ringer outrate Hart of Dixie, Gossip Girl, Americas Next Top Model, 91210 and Nikita all shows that were renewed and they get axed. I really cant see the logic behind it as all the CW demos are quite even outside of Vampire Diaries. Surely one of them could of been used as fill in even between next top model cycles at the very least. No wonder they are last. On another note go supernatural awesome performance on a friday, should do well behind Arrow.

Live, definitely not. In fact there are no Live ratings on our entire site, and most of the TV media ignores Live ratings (although there are some smaller sites that do post them, they’re just not easily available to us).
If you meant Live + Same Day DVR ratings, which is what almost all the ratings on our site are (and most other places) then the likelihood is low, since we don’t often see season averages as Live + Same Day ratings.
Putting the repeats in the list is kinda distracting . IT’s harder to see a low(or less likely high) a show is with all the repeats increasing the total number.
Deadline didn’t add them , and as a result, there are only 156 shows counted, which would be 40 less.
Just to say Gossip girl here is 188 out of 195, while without repeats it’s 152 out of 156.
:p With all this differences with viewership vs. 18-49, La Complex is still last ha.

Outside of sports, the only broadcast show I watch is Shark Tank. Wow, I’m surprised by how unappealing broadcast tv is to me. I am, however, looking forward to Revolution on ABC.
