Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • SteveO

    Yay Revenge! Yay Apt 23!

  • Justin

    Yes! Revenge!!!! :D

  • Felipe Nikita

    go revenge and bitch!

  • Jeremy Gable

Surprised Idol was even that high when the same type of dude wins every single season. Just watch auditions and pick out the white dude who plays a guitar. No need to watch the rest of the season (or the finale for that matter) to know who wins.

    Bring on X-Factor!

  • SteveO

@Amanda, in text it notes Apt 23 as a “series finale” but it was actually a “season finale” — just a typo I’m sure.

  • salim

good for revenge, love how modern family held its own against idol.

  • Max

    LOL @REVENGE.

    That’s all I will say.

  • rob60990

So Revenge against the final minutes of Idol still managed to beat the season finale of Scandal. That I did not expect but I am so happy I can gloat about it. :D

  • Jenny

Too many singing and talent shows. and they don’t seem to produce stars.
Look for all these shows ratings to keep dropping.

  • Sid

Wasn’t Apt. 23 renewed? You have its finale as a series finale in the description.

  • Doug

Go Revenge – that bodes well for next season.

I’m not sure why Apt 23 got a boost, but I’m glad it did.

  • forg

Good enough performance for ABC shows. Props to SVU as well a jump to 1.9 from 0.9 lead in is notable

AI is down but still the runaway winner

  • Alan

    Go Revenge!

  • John A

Wow Idol did bad for its finale. I thought at least a 7.0. Good Revenge rose.

  • Jenny

Modern Family needs better writing, this year the show seemed like it ran out of ideas, and wasn’t as fun to watch or as funny as in earlier years.

  • Dennis

    YAY!
    Glad for BITCH

It premiere’s tonight in the UK and I’ve heard good things…
alot of comparisons between the “bitch” and Rodger from American Dad

  • Reality

REVENGE Season Finale was ONE OF THE BEST EPISODE I’VE EVER SEEN!

  • SteveO

Ah I’m so ready for Revenge to blow up and get 3+ next year on Sundays! I’d be shocked if it didn’t. Last night’s finale was chilling.

  • HB
