Sorry, only half hourly ratings to report today, our summer weekend ratings source should kick in next weekend. In the meantime, averaging these half hours into ratings for each show will often lead to errors.

Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2012 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Think these are bad – wait until early July when the regular-season halo wears off.

  • João Lukas

now Nikita its the second high show on the Cw,losing only just for Supernatural….

  • Gary A

Don’t mean to piss off the SPN fans but even though a 0.4 can be considered okay by the pitiful CW standards, it comes in dead last to all primetime network shows ( all in repeats I might add ) and lost viewers in the 2nd half hour.
I mean I understand that you LOVE your show but at least be honest about the numbers.
And even though the CW is a poor imitation of a network, please stop using arguments utilizing crappy numbers to diss other shows that you don’t LOVE like you do SPN ( and to many others out there too ) unless you are willing to use those same arguments against your show too.

  • Doug

@Gary A – Get a grip. It’s the summer – nothing is going to repeat well. Wait until the Gossip Girl results roll in on Tuesday!

  • rob60990

So reruns of What Would You Do and 20 20 did better than last weeks originals?

  • DonnaT

    @ Gary

Where do you see SPN fans dissing other shows in this thread. Fans of CW shows are accustomed to being on the bottom whether new or repeats, so your point is?

  • Mark Wood

    Gary A

When doesn’t the CW end in 5 th place compared to the rest of the networks. Generally only two times over the networks history. WWE new episodes versus the summer reruns from 2006-2008, and New SPN versus New Goid Guys on Fox last year. Historically those are the only two periods that the CW isn’t last.

Seriously reruns of SPN of these hold will be the most viewed show on the CW. Versus both new episodes of two programs and other repeats and it occurs on a Friday. What other Friday show is any networks top rated show as a rerun this week?

As why the decline in the half hour. Several markets of the CW, end early (for example my affiliate ends at typically 9:52). Since Fast Nationals record time period and Finals record only when shows air, SPN almost always ( to date every week without preemptions) increases in viewers with finals. So take that into acct with fast nationals.

  • Mark Wilkins

Supernatural has the best ratings for this all shows on CW from Monday to Friday, not just the repeat episodes either. Shark Tank and Supernatural were the only things to watch last night.

  • SmG

    SPN did really well.

  • Felipe Nikita

    @pedro
    você é brasileiro? (:

  • Val

    @Gary A

What Supernatural fan was dissing other shows??

And first off, CW is always last in ratings. You do not compare ratings from network to network on whether a show is doing well or not. Especially not CW shows.

Had there been a verdict in the trial of former Senator (and 2008 Presidential candidate) John Edwards yesterday (May 25th), then “20/20″ and “Dateline” might have been first-run, with extensive reactions to the verdict.

  • Joseph

Given that two teams in the #1 market were playing (New Jersey Devils vs. New York Rangers), there were no NBA playoff games, and that there was probably a large curious audience in Southern California watching to see who their Kings would play in the Finals, I wouldn’t be surprised if Game 7 of the New Jersey/New York Rangers Stanley Cup playoff series topped any national broadcast or cable program last night (May 25th).

Still, with the “third” New York market team playing against a team from L.A., look for the Finals to draw all-time record viewing for the NHL on American television.

nikita and supernatural repeated better on friday than the vampire diaries did on thursday…kind of weird…

  • Danimals

I think Nikita and Supernatural did better than the vampire diaries was because it was at 9 and its lead-in was perez which does worst in ratings, imo if vampire diaries were in 8 slot, it would of beaten nikita and perez would do the same.

  • Danimals

So TVD would be also getting .4 at that time slot while Hilton does the same

  • Bette

I was happy for repeats Friday I had missed the first run of Nikita and CSINY both were great.

  • pedro

    Supernatural is good
    Sobrenatural teve otimos números

  • WyFy

I can’t wait to see how Whitney repeats on this night.

  • Nick

Primetime: WWYD and 20/20 were new. The night was not 100% repeats. More like 85% :-P
    (anyway, there’s no way a repeat 20/20 got a 1.5)
