OFF-NET ’30 ROCK’ BOOSTS NY FOX TV STATION IN MAY SWEEP
NEW YORK, May 29, 2012 — Syndicated episodes of the critically acclaimed “30 Rock” boosted its time period on New York’s WNYW in the just-concluded May 2012 sweep (April 26 to May 23) by an impressive 20 percent in household rating and a whopping 50% in household share.
New York is the nation’s largest TV market with roughly 7% of US TV households.
“30 Rock,” which replaced ratings powerhouse “The Simpsons” on WNYW in the critical, late fringe, 11:30 pm weekday time slot in fall 2011, has also improved its time period among both the women 18-to-49 and women 25-to-54 demographics by 50%, according to a comparison of Nielsen Station Index ratings for the May 2012 and 2011 sweeps.
“30 Rock,” which stars Long Island native Alec Baldwin and noted comic Tina Fey, is set in Midtown Manhattan’s NBC headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza and is distributed by NBC-Universal Television.
