Obama nominates socialist for Medal of Freedom award

Dolores Huerta is not shy about her socialist beliefs. She’s heaped public praise on the work Hugo Chavez is doing in socializing Venezuela and wondered why America isn’t following the same path (we aren’t?). She said “Republicans hate Latinos” and doesn’t have a problem with illegal immigration.

    MSNBC shocked at Biden/Trump comparison

MSNBC was appalled this week when a guest dared to compare Donald Trump to Joe Biden. The host was shocked and hilariously claimed that it was ridiculous to compare Biden to the ‘gaffe-tastic’ Donald Trump. Even most MSNBC hosts acknowledge Biden’s legendary gaffe history.

“Well, somebody put it on his teleprompter,” as though that’s some sort of an excuse. Somebody in this administration doesn’t know. This is supposedly where you have the best fact checkers, the smartest. You never, if you’re a speechwriter, you never send somebody out, the president out, to make a glaring error like this.

But it happens. It happens way too often, all too frequently with this administration. And Obama doesn’t know himself. He’s just reading the words off the teleprompter. And this from a guy who worried in the 2008 campaign about our “standing in the world” and how America was so disrespected and so unloved. All because of the evils of that stupid cowboy, George W. Bush. But now? This really is a profound insult. But aside from that… Folks, some of you might think it’s a little thing, but it tells you so much.

“President Obama awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday to Dolores Huerta, now 82 years old,” reported to be a labor activist, cofounder of the United Farm Workers union. However, “Dolores Huerta is an honorary chairman of the Democratic Socialists of America. The Democratic Socialists of America describes itself as,” quote, “the largest socialist organization in the United States and the principal US affiliate of The Socialist International.

“She has claimed, ‘Republicans hate Latinos.’ She speaks fondly and frequently of Hugo Chavez’s regime in Venezuela,” and despite her Marxist ties and her proud socialist ties — despite her radicalism — she “receives accolades from top Obama administration officials, including and understandably the Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis.” And she’s now the recipient of the nation’s highest civilian honor.

RUSH: Like everything else the Democrats do, the Presidential Medal of Freedom is now being rendered meaningless. It’s just a political award. That’s all it is. It’s been politicized. It’s another great tradition, institution down the tubes. I remember my last trip to the White House was on my birthday in 2009. This was before Obama was immaculated. I was President Bush’s guest. And after lunch, there were three recipients for the Presidential Medal of Freedom. They were Tony Blair, the former prime minister of Australia, and another world leader. They were genuine freedom fighters. Tony Blair was a member of the Labor Party, but an ally of Bush’s in the Iraq war.

Rep. Alan West?? For real?? you are better than that. Your credibility will develop serious blemishes touting the ravings of a lunatic like Alan West. Even most GOP keep him at a very extended arms length.

Fox Helps GOP Gut Vital Antipoverty Programs By Dismissing The Poor
3 hours and 29 minutes ago
Fox is helping the GOP eviscerate vital antipoverty programs by characterizing the poor “as actually living the good life.” In fact, as incomes have stagnated and income disparity between the rich and working class have grown, such drastic cuts would mean “ending assistance for millions of low-income families.”

Debunking Fox & Friends’ Dishonest Anti-Obama Attack Ad
Fox & Friends aired a video attacking President Obama by resurrecting dishonest and misleading attacks on his economic record. The video, which was produced in the style of a campaign ad against Obama, furthers Fox News’ role as the communications and campaign arm of the GOP.

Fox Execs Dodge Responsibility For Network’s Anti-Obama Attack Ad
In a characteristically tepid statement, Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming for Fox News, told Mediaite that the four-minute anti-Obama attack ad aired twice by Fox & Friends this morning “was created by an associate producer and was not authorized at the senior executive level of the network. This has been addressed with the show’s producers.”
Similarly, a spokeswoman for Fox News told The New York Times that Fox News president Roger Ailes ”was not aware of the video.”
In the process of throwing an associate producer under the bus — a producer that was effusively praised by the Fox & Friends crew this morning for his “great job” producing the ad and the ”tremendous amount of research” he put into it – Fox executives are doing their best to dodge any responsibility for the network’s programming. But while Fox’s executives are doing their best to duck blame, they are solely responsible for creating an atmosphere at the network where Fox & Friends would think airing their own campaign ad would be acceptable.

Chris Hayes….MSNBC”S simpering “Chris Matthews wanna be”
and mincing purveyor of the lame liberal manifesto has managed to enrage
current and potential viewers for that most loathed abomination MSNBC .

Hayes has now offered a tepid apology for his moronic insult to veterans
    Speaking of tepid………

Apparently COMCAST approves of this assault on Veterans on Memorial
day otherwise they would fire this weasel and follow up with the rest of that
freak show line up and then introduce new programming that would draw
    a respectable viewership .

How long can COMCAST diminish it’s corporate brand with their
    association with this network ?

AP: Fox Anti-Obama Video “Looked Similar To A Campaign Advertisement”
2 hours and 2 minutes ago by Media Matters staff
The Associated Press reported on Fox News’ 4-minute anti-Obama attack ad, describing it as “a format that looked similar to a campaign advertisement.” From the AP:

Fox News Channel’s morning show on Wednesday twice aired a nearly four-minute video that contrasted President Barack Obama’s words with negative statistics about his administration in a format that looked similar to a campaign advertisement.

The liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America called the video “essentially a four-minute anti-Obama attack ad.” The segment also received criticism from a conservative blogger.

It was shown on “Fox & Friends” and credited to a Fox producer. The segment contains ominous music and some grainy footage of the president, along with some stock images from campaign ads: an American flag fluttering in the breeze, a child running in a baseball game, a bald eagle.

A Fox News spokeswoman did not immediately return calls for comment.

The video was posted on the “Fox & Friends” website Wednesday with the headline “Four years of hope and change.”

Florida GOP Chair Compares Disenfranchising Voters to Stopping Drunk Drivers
Yesterday, Florida GOP Chair Lenny Curry released a statement defending Gov. Rick Scott’s (R-FL) plan to purge tens of thousands of voters from Florida’s voter roles. The purge is based on an error riddled list of purportedly ineligible voters which includes hundreds of eligible U.S. citizens in just one county. According to Curry, purging voters is just like a DUI checkpoint:
This past Memorial Day weekend, law enforcement put up checkpoints to ensure drunk drivers did not threaten the safety of fellow motorists. Undoubtedly, many of the drivers who were met by police were, in fact, not driving drunk. However, we accept the notion that on such a heavily traveled holiday, a few moments of inconvenience to law-abiding drivers is worth it if we can ensure safe highways.
Similarly, officials in Florida are undertaking a methodical and reasonable effort to maintain the security of Florida’s voter rolls. While some who are citizens, and others who are not deceased, may be asked to simply participate in the verification process, thousands of these records do accurately reflect non-citizens and people who have died.
But, of course, police do not throw sober drivers in jail or take away their license. Curry’s metaphor would only make sense if Florida police randomly pulled over and jailed thousands of citizens, with little evidence they had been drinking, and then required them to show proof of their soberness before letting them out of jail. Officials in Florida are carrying out the purge by sending an ominous and legalistic letter to voters targeted as non-citizens that requires them to request “an administrative hearing to present evidence” in order to dispute the State of Florida’s determination or be removed from the voter rolls.
Moreover, the Florida voter purge disproportionately affects Hispanics and Democrats. Fifty-eight percent of the list of more than 2,600 potential non-citizens are Hispanic while Hispanics make up only 13% of Florida’s population, a fact that places Florida in likely violation of federal law. The Voting Rights Act not only forbids laws that are passed specifically to target minority voters, it also strikes down state voter procedures that have a greater impact on minority voters than on others.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker Transfers $160,000 In Campaign Contributions To Mysterious Legal Defense Fund
By Annie-Rose Strasser on May 30, 2012 at 2:19 pm
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is diverting campaign donations to bankroll his legal defense fund. For what charges does he need a legal defense? He won’t say.

17,000 PEOPLE SIGN PETITION ASKING BIRTHER-CURIOUS ARIZONA OFFICIAL TO INVESTIGATE WHETHER ROMNEY IS A UNICORN | Last week, Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett, the state’s top elections official, threatened to kick President Obama off the state’s ballot until Hawai’i once again reiterated that Obama was born in that state. In response to Bennett’s flirtation with birtherism, 17,000 people signed a petition asking him to also investigate whether presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is a unicorn…..
