The NBA Playoffs Conference Finals was the top rated program on Memorial Day, with a 4.1 Adults 18-49 rating. Hatfields & McCoys night one was a strong second place, with a 3.7 adults 18-49 rating.
We only receive the top 100 cable shows for adults 25-54 for the whole day from our primary source. If you don’t see an original episode of a show here, it’s because it wasn’t in that list.
The list below is long but you can use your browsers "find on page" feature (usually CTRL+F or CMD+F) to search - that's probably the easiest way to find Cake Boss.

NBA, don’t need to watch anything else, the three shows below the NBA Pre-Game are all garbage
OMG, the Heat/Celtics got outrageous numbers.
Hemingway and Gellhorn and Secret Life ratings?
ABC is going to clean up with the NBA finals, (and I can’t believe that I am saying this) especially if the Spurs get past the Thunder.
Alright Single Ladies. Almost 3 million for the night. Good job!
Secret Life had gotten so bad, I stopped watching 2 episodes ago. Hatfields & McCoys has been one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Can’t wait for the finale tonight.
Hemingway&Gellhorn isn’t up. Can’t say I’m surprised it’s not in the top 100, I quit like 1/2 in, it was disappointing
Via Futron critic-
Rags- 3.466 million
According to Futon Critic someone screwed up here concerning SLOTAT. Futon Critic has the show’s Monday ratings at 1.397 million viewers and a 0.7 18-49 rating. They should be in the top 100 for the day according to those numbers.
Via Futon Critic-
Rags- 0.5 A18-49 demo rating
While I knew Rags could easily beat AIW, I’m surprised it was by that much. Guess it was cause it had a ton of promotion and Alice just started getting promoted a week before it aired. Bet Alice improved for its Tuesday 2PM encore. Disney should have aired Alice Monday so it wouldn’t have to compete with Rags.

Is is just me or shouldn’t they be in the Top 100?
Is is just me or shouldn’t they be in the Top 100?
Sadly, it’s not just you but also all the other people who don’t understand the red text in the post (and admittedly it’s kind of confusing). It shouldn’t have been in the top 100 with adults 25-54, because it wasn’t. If we got a list that was the top 100 by adults 18-49 (and we really, really wish that we did) it would’ve been in the list.
Looks like premiering a movie on a school night wasn’t the best idea. Hopefully, it does better if they show a rerun on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Take that all you Secret Life haters! .7 in the demo!
If Madison Avenue had to go before Congress and provide scientific proof that their rationale for discriminating in favor the the 18-49 age group over all others is based on fact, could they do it? Or is it, as I have long suspected, a fabrication, with no foundation in reality?
A (no sarcasm) NHL Playoff Analysis
===================================
Could it be that now the NHL has achieved their holy-grail (national telecast of every playoff game) the law of diminishing returns is taking serious hold in these playoffs?
Follow me here….
The NHL and its fans always assumed that hockey’s struggle for ratings and acceptance was a problem of visibility. If more Americans could get to see the games (the reasoning was) they would love it and this would show up in far greater ratings and acceptance. This was not too unreasonable an assunption – given how sure hockey fans are (in common with other sports fans) about the entertainment value of their favorite sport.
However, there is a real possibility that just the opposite may be happening. A more visible NHL may just harden discomfort and annoyance with Hockey into outright rejection in some people as they have more opportunity to finally determine that they really do NOT like the sport. The gamble the NHL unwittingly takes with an increased national profile, is that the number of people who become more attracted to hockey will be greater than the number who are more turned off by it. If we should go by the playoffs so far that seems to be a losing bet for the NHL.
If these Stanley Cup Finals between the Devils and the Kings does any less than last years Bruins/Canucks (see I know my hockey playoffs
) it just may have something to do with the above (since the whole playoffs is now being telecast nationally).
If the final series does not go over 4.5 million nationally then I would definitely say some anti-hockey hardening definitely developed this season.
The irony would be (if my analysis holds in any way) that the NHL and its game may prove to have been more interesting in America when less people were exposed to it for less time. I’ll call such a phenomenon “Hockey fatigue” and patent the phrase
– ya heard!
Take a gander at an old Onion article, it may yet prove to be uncomfortably true for hockey in this country.

@Torrid
see I know my hockey playoffs
Not very well, otherwise you would have known that the only change this season compared to previous ones was the first round coverage. There was no noticable increase in the number of hours available, just the ability to have simultaneous coverage of multiple first round games on a national level.
Everything you wrote was garbage.
The number of people posting “shouldn’t it be in the top 100?” every day is amazing.
Maybe put the red font in size 72 font?
I’ll be interested how H&M does second night. I thought it was terrible and really low on historical accuracy. I’ll be one of the ones that didn’t watch parts 2 and 3.
