Though tvbythenumbers commenters had a mixed response to CBS's new summer reality series Dogs In the City, which garnered a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating, matching the performance of a repeat of The Middle in the time period. CBS seems to think it deserves a tummy rub and a rawhide bone. In addition to the usual press release that put a positive spin on the premiere numbers, the network sent out a canine pun-filled announcement about the show's rebroadcast this Sunday, June 3:

Premiere of "Dogs in the City" to be Rebroadcast Sunday, 8:00-9:00 PM

CBS will rebroadcast the premiere of DOGS IN THE CITY on Sunday, June 3 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).

Last night's premiere fetched 6.7 million viewers, placing first in its time period and second in key demographics.

Someone at CBS really loves dogs. Notably, Dogs In the City is executive produced by CSI executive producer Carol Mendohlson.

We would love to pitch CBS our own animal reality series, Grin and Bear It, starring the one and only Cancellation Bear.

I’d watch “Grin and Bear It” lol

  • Austin

That’s a show I’d watch every episode of. @Grin and Bear It :P

  • Darrin

It was a poor ripoff of the Dog Whisperer. I’ve already deleted my series recording.

  • Chris

The first episode of Grin & Bear It should have special guest stars Kathy Bates and Bill D’Elia.

  • K

@Darrin: How so? Doesn’t he only focus on New York?

  • Carlos

Every once in a while a summer replacement series comes along that is fresh and new and blows everybody away: “Survivor” in the summer of 2000 and “American Idol” in the summer of 2002. “Dogs in the City” isn’t exactly in that same category but so far it’s fun and interesting and I’m sort of hooked on it!
