mun2, the leading bicultural cable network, delivered its best May audience in its history and was the #1 Hispanic cable network with adults 18-34 during Monday-Sunday prime, 7-11p.m., according to Nielsen. The network was up 60% with adults 18-34, +58% with adults 18-49, and +53% in total persons year over year. Fueling the growth in May were the U.S. premiere of the telenovela Ojo por Ojo,, reality series Operacion Repo, La Reina del Sur, and the mun2 original Hispanic celebrity reality series I Love Jenni.
In May, mun2 delivered 102,000 total persons, 60,000 adults 18-49 and 40,000 adults 18-34.
mun2 is pacing to have its largest season- to-date delivery in the history of the network. In Monday-Sunday prime, 7-11p.m., mun2 is up 15% with total persons, +13% with adults 18-49 and +13% with adults 18-34 vs. prior season. This season the network has delivered 91,000 total persons, 53,000 adults 18-49, and 35,000 adults 18-34.
In its premiere week (5/12-24), the telenovela Ojo por Ojo (Monday-Thursday, 11p.m.) averaged 144,000 total persons, 95,000 adults 18-49 and 58,000 adults 18-34. The novela had the best premiere for adults 18-49 in its genre on the network. It has gained double-digit growth for its time period vs. prior month, with an increase of +57% total persons, +48% adults 18-49 and +41% adults 18-34. Ojo por Ojo was the #1 show at 11p.m. across all Hispanic cable networks, and the 4th most watched show among all of cable, regardless of language in the late night period.
(Wednesday, 8p.m.) had month-to-month growth of +7% delivering 236,000 total persons, up 21% with 130,000 adults 18-49, and up 38% with 102,000 adults 18-34.
Operacion Repo (Monday-Thursday, 7p.m.) is seeing its best monthly delivery, up 5% with 87,000 total adults, up 7% with 63,000 adults 18-49, and up 15% with 46,000 adults 18-34.
Reina del Sur (Monday-Thursday, 10p.m.) is currently the most watched program at 10p.m. beating all other Hispanic networks in the same time period. The novela maintained its #1 position in primetime with Hispanic adults 18-34, delivering 145,000 total persons, 91,000 adults 18-49, and 54,000 adults 18-34.
In Sunday night prime, I Love Jenni (Sunday, 9p.m.) continued to grow, with a +21% year over year increase with adults 18-34, fueled by +122% increase in women 18-34 vs. last year in the Sunday night prime period. The series is averaging 64,000 total persons, 37,000 adults 18-49 and 29,000 adults 18-34.
Reventon con Yarel (Saturday, 10a.m.), the leading Regional Mexican music and lifestyle show, is pacing up +9% with 58,000 total persons, up 67% with 35,000 adults 18-49, and up 114% with 30,000 adults 18-34 compared to prior month.
18 & Over (Saturday, 11a.m.), the only weekly bilingual music and lifestyle countdown show, increased viewers by +86% with 69,000 total persons, up 71% with 36,000 adults 18-49, and up 136% with 26,000 adults 18-34.
For the time period (4/30/2012-5/20/2012) mun2.tv (http://mun2.tv) – the networks award-winning digital property - had over half a million (580,000) streams across the mun2.tv video player and 1.24 million streams on its mun2 YouTube channel (http://youtube.com/mun2), for a +19% month-to-month increase. There were more than 1.82 million video streams for mun2 content during three week period reported. The network continues to be a leading Hispanic cable network on social media sites with a daily organic reach of over 810,000 unique users on Facebook for a +45% month-to-month increase.
