AS CANINES CONQUER THE COMPETITION IN VIEWERS

The Premiere of "Dogs In The City" Wins Time Period with 6.7 Million Viewers

The premiere of CBS's summer reality series Dogs In The City took a bite out of the competition winning its time period in viewers, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Wednesday, May 30.

From 8:00-9:00 PM, Dogs In The City (P) was first in households (4.4/08) and viewers (6.7m) and second in adults 25-54 (1.7/05) and adults 18-49 (1.3/04).

    Cute show, more low-key than Dog Whisperer-probably belongs on Animal Planet…

    This was a refreshing change for the usual summertime reality programming. I found “Dogs in the City” to be both entertaining and informative. It was a good mix of dog issues and human drama. I will be watching for more. Keep up the good work. Thanks

    According to this CBS didn’t beat Fox.

    @Hillbilly
    CBS is just spinning numbers, they looked at meaningless total viewers (during common hour only) and declared “win”, though in all-important A18-49 Fox destroyed them, 2.6 to 1.3, and 2.4-or-2.5 to 1.3 in common hour.

    Total viewers half-hours:
    Dogs in the City: 6.64 / 6.68 million
    So You Think You Can Dance: 6.05 / 6.90 / 7.41 / 7.51 million

    Total viewers average in common hour (8PM):
    Dogs in the City: 6.66 million
    So You Think You Can Dance: 6.48 million

    We watched just to see what the show was about, but will not watch again as this is another “me-too” knock off of the Dog Whisperer and It’s Me or the Dog. Sad that CBS can’t come up with something fresh and original.
