That’s Great for SYTYCD!
So much for any bump up of significance for SC Hockey.
This series is going to be a disaster.
Wow, the NBA Draft and game on ESPN destroyed the NHL game on broadcast. I can see why NBC gave some of the games to their cable network, NBC Sports Network.
Nothing I really care about here…
I watched some of the Stanley Cup , okay mostly listened.

But the show I wanted to check out was , Dogs In The City, which was a nice change for CBS. True it is very different from the rest of their lineup, BUT , it was the sort of show I enjoy. Dogs is a cute show that should do well over the summer and attract a slightly different demo for CBS.
++
What I want though is to see IMDB updated so I can see who is part of the production because a lot of the look and feel reminds me of the Apprentice.
What a suckey series. The devils should be banned from hockey with the garbage defensive style.
Same goes for the LA Kings
Wonder how much Dogs in the City will drop next week. I thought it was pretty boring, and I am a dog lover.
Howard you are an idiot. You’re probably pissed that your crappy team didnt make it. The Devils style this year is nothing like it was when they won those 3 cups. They are not a defensive style team any more, they are more offensive and have great forechecking and power play killing. Ratings are down but who cares I think they are both great teams who deserve to be in the finals. I am looking forward to the rest of the series.
I do not know that much about hockey (but I like many other sports), but I do know that the NY area has three teams. Does the LA area also have multiple teams? That could create lower ratings in the home markets.
2.7 in the summer for non-sports programming is really good these days. Fox struggle to get a 2.7 out of in-season scripted shows nowadays – when was the last time a scripted show on Fox got a 2.7 without an American Idol lead-in?
@David Howell,
Glee got over a 2.7 for all but 4 episodes this season, as was Family Guy. New Girl only dropped below that twice. The Simpsons was over 3.0 in the fall.
Ok, now I’m shocked about this year’s SCF ratings. Hopefully for the NHL this series goes 7. I’ma toss out some Fan Excuse Bingo and blame Hatfield & McCoys and basketball for taking away most of its potential audience.
Sucks too, because the game was actually really good from the second period on. Let’s go Devils.
nhl finals did worse than a repeat of the middle…that’s just sad…
WOW where the hell are all the Hockey fans?
For some reason I thought NHL was popular but those ratings are not good.
Hmmm, a 0.6 in the demo with 1.42 million viewers, that’s probably a season high for ANTM. Correct me if I’m wrong.
The NHL was unlucky this season to not have the Rangers knock off the Devils to face LA.
For the first time in 4-5 years they’ll have some underwhelming numbers but the good news is I expect to see some higher numbers if the series goes deep. Also these numbers are better than that dreadfully low scoring 2007 SC Finals when the numbers were in CW territory.
I think the final result of this series will be like the 2003 series with the Devils/Ducks.
The NHL will be alright though as the league should be able to comeback stronger and stronger as the years go by. They got the key markets in good shape like the Blackhawks, Rangers, Penguins, Caps, and Bruins. Also there’s still some stars that are building the league behind Toews, Crosby, Ove, and the Kaner.
The only slightly interesting thing here is that, the repeat of The Middle got higher total viewers than a repeat of MF.
