Will 'Fringe' Rate Higher Than 'Touch' on Fridays in the Fall? (Poll)

Each hour of the two episode season finale of Touch drew a preliminary 1.3 adults 18-49 rating down from the 1.7 adults 18-49 rating for its penultimate episode. The drop itself isn't really surprising considering Touch had a week off and didn't have American Idol around to pump it up.

Those numbers look pretty bleak, but it's not like Fox didn't see it coming having already slated Touch for Fridays at 8pm in the fall. Last night's 1.3 adults 18-49 rating does beg the question of how far Touch's ratings will fall on Fridays and whether it will be able to better Fringe. Indeed, Fringe fans may be playing the "its lead-in is dragging it down!" Fan Excuse Bingo square in its final season.

obviously Fringe will rate higher than this Touch trash….

  • Khan

Touch is another boring procedural! was expecting better… Hate procedurals!

  • Jay S.

    Touch 1.1-1.3
    Fringe 1.0-1.1

  • Sid

    Don’t know, Don’t care!

Only shows I care about on Fridays are NIKITA and GRIMM!

Luckily Fringe is on its final season and rating won’t matter, still I can see Fringe getting 1.2 and 1.3s for most of the season, and even a 1.5 in what I guess will be the 2 hour finale. The 1.3 Touch got doesn’t necessarily means it will fall instantly, but I do think it will start the season at 1.5 and then end at 0.8, so I expect Fringe to rate better for most of it’s weeks.
I hope I’m wrong though, as Fringe is ending a Touch renewal on Fridays wouldn’t affect it at all, so if Touch fans can keep enjoying their show I’ll be happy for them.

If FOX is truly excited about Touch did they are going to have to try and make this work. Instead of showing House repeats, they should show Touch repeats after Bones on Friday night. Hopefully the producers will bring in some new cast members and the network should promote it like crazy. Keifer still has a fan base and people may be willing to give it a second try if they feel the show is moving in another direction. I’m going with Touch rating slightly higher in demo. Shows do better in Fall when people are ready to watch TV again. Fringe still has Grimm and now Nikita to face.

    Touch 1.5 demo 4.5 million
    Fringe 1.3 demo 3.2 million

  • The End

Considering Touch has shed most of its audience(Over 60 percent) prior to its friday move I’m going with Fringe beating Touch.

  • The End

I’m also predicting Touch will get Awake esq numbers. (Under 3 million, under 1.0) even if episode 1 of Season 2 does okay, I think it’l drop.

    Touch: 1.1-1.2
    Fringe: 1.0-1.1
    Touch will do better.

    Midseason-
    Hell’s Kitchen/Kitchen Nightmares/Whatever: 1.3-1.5
    Touch: 1.2-1.3
In midseason, Touch will grow in its inevitable move to 9 pm.

  • Nick

^Change: If the “whatever” show is Hell’s Kitchen, bith it and Touch will get higher ratings.
    EDIT BUTTON!!!!!

  • Nick

    “both” it and Touch, sorry.

“Damn it!”- Martin Bohm’s favorite phrase

  • Jimbo

Answer: who cares? Fringe is gone next season, and Touch doesn’t look long for this world, either. And both shows are on Friday to boot.

  • rehabber

I watch Touch, but it sometimes takes me 4 days to get around to it. It is a show I watch when nothing else is left on the DVR, so I think Fringe will beat it like a drum.

  • tvfreak

    @Nick: And Jack Bauer’s favorite, too! ;)

  • USAmerica1st

I think Fringe, but I’ll watching Touch live and Fringe on DVR.

  • justin

So far, more people have voted for Fringe in this poll than actually watch Fringe. TOUCH ALL THE WAY.

  • Red Jane

Fringe will continue at the same level as it has a loyal following that will stay tuned on…. Touch is shedding viewers by the minute and the finale losing to a repeat of Person of Interest is just further sign that when moved to Friday Touch will sink to under 1.0 levels

Terra Nova without any lead-in: 2.2
    Touch without lead-in:1.3
ohh gosh FOX makes a big mistake!

  • The End

    @João Lukas

Terra Nova budget: Around 4 million an ep.
Touch budget: Around 3 million an ep(Could be less)

Sounds like Fox made a huge mistake not renewing a show that would of cost them well over 10 million more to produce than Touch.
