Rachel Maddow beat everyone on Fox in the 18-49 group except for O’Reilly at 8 P.M. This month, she may actually break the stranglehold that Fox has had on the top 8 cable news shows ratings for the past eight years or so. Go Rachel. It shows that intelligence and beauty can triumph over ugly fascist propaganda.
If Rush or Hannity called a female Dem politician a MILF or a c**t,,media matters and the other liberal org’s against free speech,,would have them off the air by now,,by harassing sponsers…Because they aren’t shock jocks..
Larry Carey – I will agree with Jim that Mika does not add a lot to the show, but saying “Mika is a dumb blonde” is getting a little personal.
I do think that her claim to fame is based on her father’s political associations and not based on any special knowledge that she has.
These talk shows revolve around anchors that have a Political OPINION that they are continually presenting other people that have similar OPINIONS that help reinforce their own OPINION. All of their OPINIONS are based on anecdotal evidence or other OPINIONS. If they could prove position decisively they would no long have a job and we would stop debating whether the Liberals or the Conservatives are right.
If they wanted to make the show interesting they would put a woman that frequently has an opposite OPINION as Joe Scarbouro. That way they both have to work at convincing each other who is right.
It is easy to convince a Liberal of a Liberal OPINION and a Conservative a Conservative OPINION. The challenge is convincing Liberals a Conservative OPINION and Conservatives a Liberal OPINION. Pandering to Liberals and Conservative is much easier. They do not have to convince anybody whether they are right or not. They audience just sucks it up without any questions.

Bush’s policies were in effect until the end of 2009 at which the unemployment rate was at 9.9%…since then, President Obma’s policies have lowered it to 8.2%…that’s actually pretty good.

I think that Cable is on it way out. Many of the younger people I know do not have Cable. They watch the FREE TV supplimented with Hulu and Netflix. If you want News you watch Network News if you want Opinion of News you watch Cable.
