Due to the nature of live programming the ratings for NBC (Miss USA Pageant) are approximate and subject to more than the typical adjustments in the final numbers. See below for more information on these Fast Affiliate Ratings.
NBC won the night in adults 18-49, but CBS got the edge in total viewers.
ABC's season premiere of Secret Millionaire earned a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating, which is down more than 50% from last years in-season premiere (which earned a 3.4 adults 18-49 rating). The season premiere of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition also earned a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating, which is more than 30% lower than the 2.2 rating last year's summer premiere earned.
NBC's Adele: Live in London special earned a 1.7 rating. The live broadcast of the Miss USA Competition earned a 1.8, down by 18% from last year's competition. Earlier in the night, Dateline NBC earned a 0.9, up three tenths from two weeks ago.
The only original program on CBS was 60 Minutes at 7PM, which earned a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating, which is flat with its last original from two weeks ago.
FOX was all repeats.

Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Enjoyed the Adele special last night. Compared to other concert specials, is a 1.7 considered a good rating?
Ouch at ABC. I think they should consider bringing Extreme Makeover back… it got better ratings than Secret Millionaire and EM:WLE.
Ouch for ABC. They must have thought running a family-friendly themed night of reality shows would do better than this. Either SM or EM:WLE should get a repeat slot behind The Bachelorette or Wednesdays at 10 to try and get better awareness.
In Knoxville, TN NBC was preempted for a local telethon raising money for a local hospital. Dateline NBC and Adele: Live in London aired on the Weather Plus-affiliated digital subfeed and Miss USA aired at midnight after local news (which was delayed 30 minutes for a telethon wrap up).
Amazing how 60 Minutes has stayed on the air all these years with such a lousy demo. *sarcasm
Why is a 1.5 rating for cheap unscripted summer programming considered poor? Especially since networks tolerate a 2.0 rating for most scripted programming during the regular season.
CBS’ repeats did substantially better last summer.
Besides most the CBS programming; the only other things that repeat well are the Fox animations.
Secret Millionaire and Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition ratings aren’t anything good but better than reruns would have done.
Did ABC cancel that game show thing?
“Ouch at ABC. I think they should consider bringing Extreme Makeover back… it got better ratings than Secret Millionaire and EM:WLE.”
Secret Millionaire did better than EMHE when it was on last spring. Comparing summer ratings to regular season ratings are ridiculous.
Good wife repeats horribly.
Interesting how “60 Minutes” is considered “new” when it airs segment(s) that are repeats.
Could it have been because Of the MTV awards that they premiered kinda low
Grey is correct. The “new” segements they air were just the same stories they showed months ago with a new intro and postscript story wrap-up. The “new” stuff lasted a total of a few minutes for the entire show.
When will we find out what MTV Movie Awards got?
I didn’t think Adale special was that good. It felt to much like it was a segment of TODAY. ABC should consider bringing back Extreme Makeover with Ty Pennington, I really think it would get better #s than Secret Millionaire.
I am sure that reason they keep Secret Millionaire on instead of Extreme Home Makeover is because SM is CHEAP!!! To make a home even if some of the house is donated is still expensive. The Secret Millionaire probably costs a few thousand dollars to make. Seriously, the cheap hotel room they stay at cannot be even over 100 dollars.
But ESPN’s NBA playoff game (Miami at Boston) clearly won the night in total viewers and probably also in key demos.
Looking forward to seeing the cable ratings for Sunday. Premiers and other good stuff. I know I wasn’t watching anything on the networks last night.
EM:WLE doesn’t not need to be 2 hours long that’s just over kill
haha take that haters! FG top of the night
