Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Heat and the Celtics was the highest rated programming on cable Tuesday night with a 4.6 adults 18-49 rating and the SportsCenter that followed The Game was second for the night with a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating. Storage Wars came in third place, with a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating at both 10:00 and 10:30PM.

Wow, almost a year hiatus for The Lying Game. Good job keeping momentum for an already struggling show ABC Family!
@gb Are you serious? I could’ve sworn it was coming back at the end of the summer. How long of a hiatus will that be again? Apparently ABC Family wants to kill the show. It was starting to average around 1.5 million viewers, with a 0.6 18-49 rating the last I saw it. It was gaining an audience. STUPID, STUPID move by the network.
In regards to “The Lying Game” – ABC Family has to actually write, film and cut the episodes. Not to mention there was barely any prep work done for the second season before the renewal because of how truly of a bubble-show it was.
ABC Family is trying to use Pretty Little Liars to build an audience for every new(er) show on the network. Jane By Design is the third different show to follow PLL in the last three half-seasons. First was Chloe King which bombed badly, then The Lying Game which improved dramatically over its season 1A. Now they give that slot to Jane By Design which many people thought should have been canceled after 10 low rated episodes. We’ll see over the next few weeks if PLL can save JBD. With Secret Life on its last legs and MIOBI finished, ABC Family needs another hit badly, because PLL can’t carry the whole load.

Why the hell would ABC Family “want” to destroy a show? So they order another season just to waste money? Yeah, that makes sense to me. Some fans have no common sense sometimes…
If ABC Family knew what was good for them they would have brought back Switched at Birth for the summer at 9 after Secret Life. Both shows did very well when paired together last summer but when they both came back separately they plummeted. They should have waited to air Bunheads later seeing as Secret Life is not the powerful lead in that it used to be. And after a 10 month hiatus I doubt that PLL will be able to save TLG again.
I am another fan disappointed by the PLL finale and not watching this time – ABCF has got to be really shocked at that number. They shouldn’t be. The current heads of that network should be in big trouble. They’ve taken a bunch of hit shows, PLL, Switched at Birth, Make it or Break It, and Secret Life, and lost over a million viewers for each on in one year.

I don’t think ABC Family is trying to kill the show. It was just a poor decision to renew it so late. They literally waited to see how well MIOBI did before they decided the fate of TLG. Everyone knew MIOBI was dead from the get go so The Lying Game should’ve been given the early renewal.
Interested to see how well Bunheads performs. The Secret Life may not be a great lead-in this season. Maybe Amy-Sherman Palladino is a big enough draw.

ITA with you. Secret Life’s 5th season starts next Monday, and I believe it will most likely be the show’s final season. The rest of Switched At Birth’s 1st season will begin airing in September. I know the show is the network’s 3rd highest rated program, but I am worried about it. It’s ratings dropped quite a bit when it aired in the winter, and that was coming back from a 3 month hiatus. When it returns in September, it’ll be coming back from a 6 month hiatus. I have a feeling that is really going to hurt the show. The Lying Game will never recover from a 10 month hiatus. I’m sorry, but there’s no way that show will find it’s groove again after such a long break. I have a feeling both Jane By Design and Bunheads won’t do very well this summer. I think they’ll both start with decent numbers, but fall as the summer goes on. With Secret Life possibly going into its final season, ABC Family definitely needs to find another “hit” fast.
If Bunheads croaks the head of that network is in even bigger trouble.
i wonder how well switched at birth will do in the fall. hopefully abcfamily will promote it well, because it doesn’t seem like anything else will be airing along with it.

I have a feeling Switched At Birth will struggle in the fall. It didn’t do that great when it returned from a 3 month hiatus in January. This time, it will be returning from a longer hiatus. I like the show a lot, but I have a strong feeling the 6 month hiatus is really going to hurt it.
Yeah I’m not so sure about that Baby Daddy show that’s coming up. Aside from Melissa and Joey the only other ABC Family comedy I can think of is that State of Georgia show with Raven Symone from last summer and it tanked. I guess we’ll have to see how that one does.
I had heard a while back that ABC family was also doing a new show called Beverly Hills Nannies or something like that on Wednesdays. Anyone know anything about that? I haven’t seen any promotion for it at all so I’m not sure.
