truTV’s hit series Lizard Lick Towing returned last night with an outstanding 2.7 million viewers, along with 1.5 million adults 18-49, the show’s biggest demo delivery ever. Lizard Lick Towing also ranked among basic cable's Top 5 programs in the 10 p.m. half hour with total viewers, adults 18-34, adults 18-49, men 18-34 and men 18-49.

One of truTV's most popular shows, Lizard Lick Towing follows the towing and repo company owners Ron and Amy Shirley as they repossess vehicles and machinery on behalf of lien holders – a difficult and often unpleasant task, to say the least. Ron is the hulking, tattooed owner of Lizard Lick Towing & Recovery. He and his best friend Bobby must go about the difficult task of tracking down and repossessing property, often coming face-to-face with irate owners. His wife Amy, a former champion power lifter, works the main office, where the owners often bring heated demands that property be returned. This season on Lizard Lick Towing, Ron and Amy’s business is threatened by a rival tow operation.

"Lizard Lick Towing has really captured the attention of truTV's fans with its wild and outrageous adventures, as well as its memorable nuggets of Ron's homespun wisdom," said Marc Juris, executive vice president and chief operating officer of truTV.

Lizard Lick Towing comes to truTV from Zodiak USA, producers of the hit truTV series Hardcore Pawn and All Worked Up. Mike Gamson and Jo Inglott serve as the executive producers for Zodiak USA. For truTV, Anthony Horn serves as executive in charge of production and Jon Crowley serves as executive producer.

Posts like this make me want to hang my head down and rock back and forth in distress. Seriously? A show about TOWING?? ‘Returning’? Meaning it was so successful the first season that they brought it back? Getting your car towed seems like such a tedious and unpleasant task- Why in the world would I want to watch someone else get their car towed? Stuff like this is killing network television and there is no end in sight. In fact, it’s just going to get worse.

Alright. I’ll get off my soap box and stop complaining. But just one more time: SERIOUSLY? A show about TOWING?? Really??

  • Bjm

It’s not just a show about towing. It’s a stupid show about towing. Trutv seems to thrive on these. I don’t know why.

  • jew

joethehobo, u @ mc ds using there free wifi drinking free water again bro? You are upset because you prob got licked.
its a great show and they deserve to be respected they do a hard job and risk thier lives daily. people like myself respect them, I PAY my bills, nothing comes for free in life including a vehicle. YOU DON’T PAY YOU GET LICKED!

  • Filirican

Best show ever!! Keep up the good work..

  • Deborah

If you don’t pay – it don’t stay. Sorry but that’s how it is. Yes, it is a dangerous job. My husband and I live this life every day. The fastest way to get on your feet is to miss two car payments. That’s the reality of it.

  • Candace

If you don’t like the show, use your remote (you must be a yankee and enjoy Jersey Shore). I live 3 miles from Lizard Lick and I think it is a great show.

  • joethehobo

@Jew, Not that it matters, but I have never had my car towed. Even if I did, it still doesn’t seem like a very interesting event in my life. The reason why I think the show is stupid, though admittedly, I have not seen it, is because the premise of a towing company reality show IS stupid. There’s just no way around that. These reality shows are cheap to produce, easy to edit, and as long as they find an audience of about .03 share, they’ll get a renewal. It’s bad for television and it’s just bad for the creative form in general.

However, it’s not people like me who this show is interested in grabbing. If this show can grab enough viewers to warrant a second season, more power to it. Obviously the low brow content works for some people.

  • TimsDale4ever

Let’s don’t stop here. Let’s have a show about who can go the longest without a bath. Several families can compete against each other for a cash prize. I’m with you Joe — tv has gone straight to BS!

  • greenmantis

So, it returned with 2.7 million viewers. I guess there are 2.7 million inbred, trailer-trash, morons in this country then.

  • Michelle

I love watching the show and Amy you have a beautiful family and God bless you all

  • sharon

For all you people that don;t like the show…turn the channel. It’s not mandatory that you watch. Pure and simple.
