@Dean_W
Expecting you are a Supernatural fan, I believe it is confirmed by unofficial sources as October 10th – The Premiere of Season 8.
Kobe #1? Nope, maybe 3 years ago but now its between Lebron and Durant. I don’t think Kobe is top 5 right now
are you kidding me? Kobe has 5 championships, MVP, 2 finals mvp, 2 scoring titles, 14 all star appearances, on pace to break the all time points record and playoff points record if he hasn’t already. And in the 2011-2012 season he averaged 27.9 ppg at his age plus all the records he’s gonna break before his nba career is over. I say that qualifies him as the best player among all active NBA players.
Those were not quite the numbers I was expecting, but it’s still only Game 1. Blockbuster ratings in OKC. Hopefully we’ll have an exciting game tonight and crack 20 million.
@mark I’m not talking about career, yes Kobe is an all time great but right now Lebron and Durant are certainly better
@tvguy you’re asking for too much, it won’t break 20 in game 2. You have to wait till about game 5 for over 20
Hi there, guys. I’m from Bulgaria (post-communist european country) and I have a question. How is it possible just 16 million of US tv viewers to be interested in NBA? I mean it is only 5% of all the populaton in the USA… Isn’t basketball one of the most popular sports?
Excuse my english.
@vj its good ratings for NBA or MLB. 5 % for the U.S. isn’t bad since Americans just aren’t like other countries when it comes to Passion for sports. Only the NFL does amazing with over 100 million for the superbowl. Although the NBA and MLB are series best of 7 so there’s a lot of games which are not elimination games. If NBA was a 1 game takes all type thing the ratings would be huge as well. But by comparison the 16 million is big for game 1
@VJ
It’s all about elimination games, when you know for a fact there will be another game and in this case games you say oh I’ll catch the next one. Most people just want to see the game where the championship is won, that’s why the Super Bowl does huge numbers because it’s one game for everything.
It’s kind of similar to skipping the group stage in the World Cup and just watching the knockout stage.
