This marks the fifth time the series has been awarded this honor in the past seven years based on stats from Eurodata TV Worldwide for the highest ratings worldwide in 2011 across five continents. CSI star Ted Danson was on hand to accept the award on behalf of the series.

The International Audience Awards are presented jointly by the Monte Carlo Television Festival and Eurodata TV Worldwide to reward programs that delivered the highest ratings worldwide in 2011 across five continents in three categories: Drama TV Series, Comedy TV Series and Telenovelas/Soap Operas. The nominees were pre-selected among the 15 best imported fiction programs in 65 countries, i.e., nearly three billion potential viewers. CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION gathered more than 63 million viewers worldwide, surpassing the nominated shows in all three categories and making it the most-watched show in the world. CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was joined by its spinoff series CSI: MIAMI and CSI: NY as the only nominees in the Drama TV series category, marking the first time ever in the Award’s history that all three series competed in the same category.

This is the true money maker on TV right now making all of that money overseas. I think they may have some slight competition with this new Dallas.

Justin is right The CW is very popular outside of the U.S. as their shows make a lot of money overseas. Nikita is in the top 5 grossers for American shows overseas.

NCIS is not popular outside of the U.S. like CSI, The CW shows is popular but more people do ilegal downloads, and CSI have better ratings for be a procedural.
