"The Talk" Posts Significant Across-the-Board Growth Versus the Same Week

CBS daytime talk show THE TALK delivered its highest women 25-54 rating since February while posting across-the-board growth from the same week last year, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending June 8.
For the week, THE TALK averaged 1.7/6 in households, 2.29 million viewers, 1.1/7 in women 25-54 and 0.8/5 in women 18-49. The women 25-54 rating was THE TALK's highest since the week ending Feb. 17, while the women 18-49 rating was the best since the week ending May 4.
Compared to the same week last year, THE TALK was up +21% in households (from 1.4/4), +24% in viewers (from. 1.85m), +38% in women 25-54 (from 0.8/5) and +33% in women 18-49 (from 0.6/4).
I wonder how those numbers compare with The View for the same week. Also, are they better or worse than As The World Turns? Does anyone know?
The 2.3 million and the .8 are about the same as ATWT in their last year — but CBS is looking at how much LESS they are having to spend putting on an hour of TALK vs ATWT. They don’t care that it’s a STUPID program. So sad where TV has gone — and even sader where it will continue to go.
Thats why i ALWAYS WATCH & SUPPORT General Hospital…and i also BOYCOTT The Chew & the rest of ABC. GO SOAPS!!!!!

If As the World Turns was still on the air, it would have lost another million or so viewers. Quit crying.
ATWT should still be on the air, but it was in sad creative shape. As for The Talk , I’ll take it over 4 hours of Today, or Chew any day . CBS Daytime is in pretty good shape.
Pat, I agree CBS daytime is much better than the alternatives. At least their programming is more diverse and interesting than constant news/talk shows and a lone soap. I do miss ATWT & GL, but YR & BB are good soaps. I was an ABC fan until AMC & OLTL were cancelled. Now GH is the ONLY ABC show I watch.
It’s amazing how The Talk hasn’t gotten to 3 million viewers just yet and keeps bleeding heavily out of The Bold and the Beautiful which gets around 3 million regularly.
ATWT the last 3 years of its run was getting in that upper 2 million viewer range. CBS could do better no doubt about it with another series.
