   Im only 32 and new to the show didnt watch the old one but this was great and big ratings hit too. Def renewal!:)

   Royal Pains is up but it still seems to have been damaged by Dallas’ premiere. I will be interested to see how the two shows fare against one another as the summer progresses.

   Dallas was great. People forget that this is “cable” television not the big three networks. The numbers were very good for being on a cable channel.

   Yes, I watched the original (I’m old), and I loved the new Dallas. Loved Bobby, JR. and Sue Ellen. Liked most of the newbies. Christopher gets to be boring; he’s the good guy. The three women were quite awesome in their own ways. The only disappointment was the actor who played JR’s son. The progeny of JR and Sue Ellen should be a silken-skinned rattlesnake – not the guppy they gave us (they expect us to believe that this wimp-noodle is going to be a match for JR?). Just my opinion. I”ll definitely watch. And I think the ratings are not earth-shattering, but are good enough if they remain stable.

    I’m glad Dallas premiered so high… because it looks like it made Necessary Roughness go down. If NR stays at this level or goes down even more that means Fairly Legal will be above both NR and Common Law in terms of ratings on USA, Which makes a third season of FL look very good. Its all petty i know, but FL has been pulling those kind of numbers on Fridays, a night no one watches TV and has been very steady, except that fluke time it went bellow 2 million and deserves another season more than a show being held up by a lead in.

    On another note, good ratings for Mellisa and Joey. Can you post the ratings for the repeat that was on at 8:30 if you see them?

    Max’s strategy: Look for a highly promoted soap and then bash its ratings. That Max person is quite known here for bashing Revenge too. Always talk about how “given that shows are promoted so much”, the ratings are so bad. While his/her favourite show Scandal’s ratings despite having the best lead-in ever on ABC , is mediocre at best, and only scrapped past GCB for renewal. And Max claims that Scandal is the powerhouse of ABC 10pm shows. Go figure. I have not even watched Dallas yet, and this person already seems like a troll.

    Beware Dallas fans, Max will be here for every Wednesday cable ratings release. And if Dallas falls, Max will call it a flop. If Dallas stays constant, Max will call it a flop. And of course, if Dallas rises, Max will still call it a flop. Revenge fans have to suffer trolling on how Revenge’s ratings are so bad and how Scandal’s ratings are so impressive for 5 whole weeks ever since Scandal premiered, and Dallas fans will have to suffer the same fate. If you do not wish to ruin your day by some show-based trolling, avoid the comments section of this site for every Dallas ratings.

    Dallas was surprisingly good. Loved that they pretty much kept the opening sequence. Guess we’ll get a full season.

    I have zero interest in watching Dallas but it really had very good ratings and it looks like the Dallas fans liked it.

    I enjoyed Dallas. But why are they making Bobby sick? Either he will get better and so why have him ill to begin with, or he will die, in which case, I will quit watching. Much of why I watched was tied to nostalgia. It was nice seeing Larry, Linda nd Patrick, as well as Charlene and Steve. I stopped watching the original Dallas when they killed off Bobby, so don’t remember anything that happened after, until I heard about the infamous shower scene.

    Cale vs major network, I wonder wherethe best ratings would be had.

    As a fan of the original I was skeptical that the Dallad reboot would be as good as it was. I think they did alot of things right, starting with the opening sequence. Looking forward to future episodes. I am in the 18 – 49 demo.

    I am shocked, I thought Dallas would do better, if only for the curiosity factor. Although, JR and Bobby were really the most interesting things about last night’s premier IMHO. Well it might not drop that much, will wait and see.

    I’m so glad Dallas’ return was solid and not a flop. I think a lot of us had trouble seeing how much this could get so we went way too high since it was on cable but this is a good number but I hope it holds up in the coming weeks because Dallas was so good this is probably the best modern remake/reboot/continuation ever made. This show was so great from start to finish. Hopefully this can bring more soaps back to television which is needed.

    I think the positive for Dallas is that is was very good and at least 80-90% of the people who watched it liked it so there’s a chance that word of mouth could increase the numbers before the season ends.

    I watched Dynasty more than Dallas, but I’m glad an oldie has been rebooted. How long until plans for a Dynasty reboot come to fruition?:)
