San Francisco Giants Pitcher Matt Cain to Present Top Ten List on ‘Late Show with David Letterman’
via press release:
SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS PITCHER MATT CAIN, WHO THREW THE FIRST PERFECT GAME IN THE TEAM’S HISTORY LAST WEDNESDAY, TO PRESENT THE TOP TEN LIST ON CBS’s “LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN” TONIGHT
NEW YORK, June 18 – San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain, who threw the first perfect game in Giants franchise history last Wednesday, will present the Top Ten List on the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Monday, June 18. Cain will present the Top Ten List via satellite from Angel Stadium of Anaheim, where the Giants will face the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Monday night.
On Wednesday, June 13, Cain struck out a career-high 14 batters in the Giants’ 10-0 win over the Astros, notching the Giants’ first-ever perfect game, the second perfect game in the majors this season (pitched by Chicago White Sox pitcher Philip Humber, who also presented the LATE SHOW Top Ten on April 23) and the 22nd in Major League Baseball history. Cain’s 14 strikeouts also tied Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax’s 1965 record for most strikeouts in a perfect game.
Also visiting the LATE SHOW tonight are actor and comedian Denis Leary, actress Olivia Wilde and musical guests The Pierces.
The LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated. Barbara Gaines, Matt Roberts, Jude Brennan, Maria Pope, Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.
