Among adults 18-49, Falling Skies earned a 1.5 rating, which is down from last year's 2.0 premiere rating.  Our polled readers were too optimistic in their predictions. Blame Lebron?

  • The Original J

Still huge numbers for cable, but most of us were wildly optimistic in our predictions.

  • Max

So, what actually performed better? This or Dallas?

  • Baqinardo

1.5 against NBA and Golf. Not bad.
Same #s with Dallas series premiere.
Hope there’ll be an hourly ratings in tomorrow daily cable ratings.

  • Dennis

    Dallas was better.

  • Willie

    I thought Dallas did better?

  • Silvio

Was spot on with my prediction (1.5 A18-49 with 4.5 million total viewers).

That’s acceptable vs NBA finals … but TNT inflicted that pain to themselves … they could push premiere to later date.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Robert Seidman

Dallas did much better in total viewers, but only a teeny tiny bit better with adults 18-49 where they both wound up with a 1.5 rtg.

  • halloween

    epic fail

  • Colin

Third season guaranteed. Nothing else matters.

  • Mike

not bad against nba finals they could have pushed back the premier date though…

  • KarenM

Considering you had to wait a year for it to return this isn’t surprising at all!

  • LJ

a 1.5 on cable will keep the lights on. Go Renewal Squirrel!

  • KarenM

I didn’t watch Dallas but those who did liked it. Soap operas just aren’t my cup of tea anymore.

  • Pete

Not bad. Heavy competition didn’t help.

  • Jonathan

If this isn’t just a sports-related anomaly, TNT will have another miss on their hands comparatively. There are more cable shows doing poorly (well, less great) this summer than in recent memory.

  • DGH

    @halloween

I think you need to look up the definition of “epic”.

  • RJ

My guess was a 1.6 demo. Not too far off.

  • cimmer

Well, I guess we’ll see next week if this rating is a result of the NBA and Masters.

  • Mike

    @haloween

How is the a fail at all??

its ratings are beating TNT’s other shows ratings and just because it wasnt a 2.0 means nothing…

for the next episode will it be up against NBA??

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Robert Seidman

I have to agree with Silvio (and applaud him for nailing his prediction) but I’m disappointed he didn’t grade the press release.
