Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

People actually watched the US Open even after Tiger screwed it all up?
LMAO at the good wife. Just awful ratings.
If Tiger was still in the running the last day I think golf would of beat the NBA in total viewers. Not the demo for sure but total viewers.
I was looking forward to Tiger being in contention just to see who would’ve come out on top in the ratings. NBA definitely would’ve won the demo but was curious if Tiger could win the total viewers battle, since I doubt NBC & its golf advertisers are too concerned with the demo. The demo for golf is “golfers and old guys who can’t get erections”
No 7pm ratings?
I wonder if there was any overlapping for golf and basketball. If there was I would expect it be a small one.
The NBA should be over 15 mil
Have to wait till the final ratings to get the real NBA numbers
Look at that pathetic demo for golf 9.5 million and only a 2.3. Golf and baseball, sports for old people. It’s all about football and basketball
How many viewers had Falling Skies???
>>The demo for golf is “golfers and old guys who can’t get erections.”<<
Actually, the demo for golf is upscale folks. Check the ads if you don't believe me. Luxury cars, investment companies, etc. There are a bunch of advertisers who want that demo. Which is why a lot of golf gets on the air. TV by the Numbers is always hung up on 18-49, of course, but that age group is not the be-all and end-all for every advertiser. Golf draws a much richer audience than basketball.
The Mentalist repeated very low. I’m scared about the future of the Show on Sunday night at 10 (Fortunately the Show was Renewed for 2 more Seasons !).
The Mentalist is likely to be canned after 7 seasons ala Cold Case and Without a trace
a 0.5 for the good wife repeat is good. its free money.
@Casey Abell
Exactly ,, NBA 18-49 demo , buys Sneakers & Sugar Filled Energy Drinks ,
US Open viewers will buy a Rolex, Lexus, or invest $100′s with a seasoned investment firm.
Its a prime example of when the 18-49 is nice but its even nicer to have decision maker with money watching your program.
curous how true blood did competing with Falling skies.
I think episode 5×02 was a bit boring .
I guess they are running out of new ideas and are bringing older characters back this season.
I do like finally seeing the Vampire Authority plus seeing Pam and Eric’s past.
Considering that its leadin was The Goodwife, and that this was the first time that The Mentalist was in this timeslot this summer, I think the ratings are decent. I would be satisfied with 7 seasons of this show. Simon Baker is too good an actor to want to stay on longer anyways, I think.
ty kc and joseph. i’ve been saying this for a while now.
Yeah, golf skews old, which should be the kiss of death according to TVBTN gospel. But just one thing. Golf also skews rich. As Willie Sutton might say, golf’s where the money is. And that’s why the game gets on the broadcast networks throughout the year.
Well said, @CaseyAbell. 9
