MSNBC…..Leader in Deception….
To MSNBC viewers, it appeared to be a 49-second video clip introduced
by veteran anchor Andrea Mitchell to illustrate her contention that GOP
presidential candidate Mitt Romney is ‘out of touch’ — what viewers didn’t
know was that MSNBC had selectively edited the clip, manipulating viewer
perception and keeping them from hearing Romney’s full message….
Yep Ed came back and cant get 900k! the party in Wisc is over!
Huge numbers for Hannity and The 5!
@Upandover
Yet you seem not to care or even know that Fox News edits videos all the time….
@Sulko – not as bad as MSNBC.
@UpandOver
Even though journalists would always prefer to use more of what someone says, rather than less, the edits MSNBC did were transparent and permissible. In fact, Mitchell did Romney another favor by not mentioning that his story to the crowd was a big, fat lie. Romney told the crowd that an optometrist complained to him about a 33-page change of address form for Medicaid. He only missed it by 31 pages. The form he compared to the sandwich computers at “Wawa’s” is two pages long, four if you include the instructions.
Furthermore, there was nothing wrong with their edits. The clip was intended to convey two things: that Romney kept calling the convenience store chain by the wrong name, and that he was “amazed” by the sandwich-ordering touchscreen. Those things are both true, and the edits were self-evident. The longer clip which every conservative is clutching the pearls about, runs over 3 minutes, versus MSNBC’s 30 seconds or so, and includes the context that Romney was contrasting the federal government with the private sector, a contrast that depends on his amazement with Wawa’s sandwich computer. Another bogus, fake controversy.
I didn’t see the original airing, but if the video shown on the intertoobz today is correct, there were several “swooshes” to make it clear that there WERE edits within the story. This a technique like “b-roll” to indicate that the video is NOT totally continuous. Willard DOES in fact seem to get all hopped-up about all sorts of things like cookies and chocolate goodies. Right-wing lunatics should be HAPPY that the part of the presentation about some optometrist having trouble with Federal forms. The optometrist MAY have been actually dealing with Medicaid and the state because Medicare, a Federal program, is for ALL seniors, not just the poor. It’s something that factcheck.org may have to iron out.
Not ONE cable news program on FNC’s competitors last night, could be the 25/54 numbers for Bill O’Reilly’s 11pm et REPEAT fead.
I think that if you see Fox News numbers continue to climb, it could be there are more Romney people out there than the Obama re-election campaign is prepared to take on.
@Ratboy, Cooffee Steve, dd, REM, Mike, DB, Tennable, Raz, Hillbilly, and any other conservative I missed.
I would really like to hear your honest opinion on this debate video between Reagan and Bush. It’s very interesting to see how they dealt with the immigration issue/topic back then. Enjoy and I look forward to hearing your opinions.

LIBERALS LIE
I heard the bio on Colonel Sanders was finger lickin’ good!
@Mike
Really? Splitting 2 totally different video segments from 2 totally different seasons to make one video clip seem like it is from the same time isn’t bad? That’s JUST as bad as MSNBC if not worse.

@Ralph Hahn
Just means Liberals are successful enough to have access to premium cable in the evenings.
Seriously though … do you honestly believe Fox talking to 1% of the population is a indication of how the country will vote?
Fox and MSNBC do not compete for the same audience. The only way I would watch Fox is if the hired KeithO, or gave Alan Coombes his own show.
Dobbs Misreports Key Provision Of Immigration Policy Change
Dobbs: “If I Do My Math Correctly … A Good Portion” Of Immigrants Affected By Obama’s Decision “Would’ve Been Adults When They Came Here.” On the June 18 edition of Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs Tonight, host Lou Dobbs and his guests discussed President Obama’s announcement of the policy change. During the discussion, Dobbs claimed that “a good portion” of the immigrants who will no longer be considered for deportation were “adults when they came here”:
In fact, the policy change applies only to immigrants who were brought to the U.S. before they were 16.
The GOP are outraged that this President, despite their efforts to obstruct everything he attempts to accomplish, he has taken action. The American people will re-elect President Barack Obama.
The Obama administration has announced that it will allow some young undocumented immigrants to remain in the United States. In response, the right-wing are falsely suggesting that this policy change is evidence that President Obama is “putting politics above national security and the rule of law” and “acting like a king.” In fact, the change is an exercise of prosecutorial discretion that is consistent with the current law and has decades of precedent.
Fox News has resorted to advancing an old falsehood to criticize President Obama’s recent immigration policy change, claiming that his administration has failed to enforce immigration laws. In fact, the Obama administration’s immigration enforcement policy has been so effective in the last three years that the New York Times recently remarked: “Mr. Obama’s record on deportations has not been matched since the 1950s, with nearly 400,000 foreigners removed in each year of his term.”
Indeed, during Obama’s three years in office, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported more than 1.1 million undocumented immigrants. The annual average number of deportations under Obama is twice the annual average from President Bush’s first term, and 30 percent higher than Bush’s average when he left office. The removal of undocumented immigrants has steadily risen since Obama took office.
I’m sure MSNBC anchors will soon show this video…
Harvard Law School professor Roberto Unger, who taught Barack Obama
classes such as Jurisprudence and Reinventing Democracy, said last month
in a little-publicized video that his former student has betrayed liberals and
should lose the presidency in November.
“President Obama must be defeated in the coming election,” Unger said in
a sit-down video posted to his YouTube account in May, which also attacked
the Republican party.
“If [The Republicans] had their way, inequality would be even greater than it
is now,” Unger said, before acknowledging that a Romney win would lead to
some undesirable “judicial and administrative appointments.”
But those costs, to Unger, pale in comparison to the risks of an Obama second term.
