    @Aerilyn
I don’t think you can really compare summer programming with fall programming. Summers always do lower business than the rest of the year. Plus, even the cable shows that did so well the past few summers have been underperforming. Not a lot, mind you, but just enough to indicate a general decline in the season’s ratings. And it’s not as though the CW does gangbusters in summers, anyway.

Reality has been really failing lately, when was the last new hit in this genre on the broadcasters?

    ABC should continue Dynasty instead.

Wow. Regarding Glass House, CBS has nothing to worry about. The producers of Big Brother no longer have to concern theirselves with the competition from Glass House. Also, The 1.9 demo at 10pm for Big Bang Theory is really impressive.

    The Voice last season.

I am a big fan of ‘Big Brother’ and I may be in the minority, but, I really liked ‘Glass House’. I expected it to be terrible.
Although, I think a certain house-guest gets ‘villain’ confused with simply being ‘emotionally abusive’, it is one of the best parts of the show. It seems like people love to have someone to hate.

Another thing I am not so sure about is the ‘Wii Fit’ style voting. The hand motion screen is pretty cool, and the stone, but the tacky hand-guns and the like, that selects the person you are voting for bothered me. I wish there were just a button they could press after they did the motioning to select someone.

I worry that the public being involved in everything may get annoying and could work against them, in some cases. I hope not.
But, I like the style of the house, and I like the innovative nature of things.

I hope this show does well. It kinda has to, given all they went through for it even to make it to air.

Did anyone else notice the nod ABC gave to the whole lawsuit issue, during the voice-over to the show? Not a big deal, something along the lines of “The show They didn’t want you to see”.

I wonder how that chair show will do on CW :)

The Voice and The X Factor both premeired in 2011. This season averaged 4.9 and 3.7, respectively, in Live+SD 18-49 aggregate ratings, putting both in the top ten.

I didn’t think it was possible to dumb down Big Brother (which I like to watch), the The Glass House managed to do it. I saw a post earlier referring to it as “creepy” and that’s exactly what I think it was. I think CBS handed them more viewers than they deserved by filing the lawsuit and giving The Glass House some press it otherwise wouldn’t have gotten.

Glass House was just a total waste of electricity. I should’ve just shut the TV off when it came on.

The only reality show that ever interested me was one that was on about 10 years ago, where a group of contestants had to live in a small coastal community and solve a mystery. I forget the name of it, but it was on Fox.

Just an FYI , Glass fell in the second 1/2 hour to 1.4 & 3.7

The Voice did pretty well, but X-factor was not a good example of a successful new reality show. Yeah if you consider getting renewed successful it was, but it wasn’t anywhere near as popular as they wanted it to be. It survived, but that’s about it.

I was really disappointed in Glass House. I agree with the others — Big Brother has nothing to worry about. I thought it would be more fun to have America “controlling” the game , but it’s actually more fun to me to see the contestants working out their own strategies.
